'Sometimes you'll never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory' - Raconteur

Hanan stared at the mirror and for the very first time appreciated the woman staring back at her. She looked totally different in a lovely turquoise dinner gown glistening with stones on it. Her eye colour stood out and the make up looks perfect.

After she had left the office, she told Mariam she needed a makeover. And that one had over willingly agreed. They had gone to a beauty spa and Hanan had initially refused she doesn't need a body massage. But she had later agreed but Mariam received an urgent call and had to leave and she couldn't be happier.

Cos she was almost on the verge of regretting bringing up the idea. She can't afford to start explaining why she had those scars on her body and the story behind every one of it. The attendant had been shocked and asked how her husband reacted to those. She came up with an excuse and made her promise it stays between them both. And she had promised!

Then after then, she went to the salon and got her hair made and they admired her really long hair.
She didn't look at the mirror till they were done and when they did, she was stupefied. She looked amazing! And she almost cried from excitement and happiness.

Mariam's reaction when she saw her was priceless. She was over hyper and was gushing at her till they got home. The dress arrived along with the matching heels and scarf.

"Are you ready?" Mariam yelled downstairs.

"Yeah. Just a minute" she yelled back. She fixed her scarf and put on the heels. She smiled as she stared at her reflection with satisfaction.

"My goodness!!" Mariam gasped when she descended the stairs. "I need another word for awesome!"

Hanan smiled. "My dear, you are drop dead gorgeous!" as she pulled her into a hug. "My grandson will go insane just by the sight of you" she cooed and giggled. And Hanan shook her head at her childishness.

She then took in her appearance "You not dressed!"

"No dear, I'm not going. I experienced my attack a while ago. And the doctor had told me to stay put and not stress myself. And moreover, you can stand in for me"

"Okay granny. Ensure you take your drugs."

"Sure dear. Enjoy your night!"

"I'm gonna miss you " And she pulled her in for a tight hug.

"Me more" and they reluctantly disengaged. "The driver is already waiting outside. And its getting late already. Have fun!"

"Alright Granny"

She entered the car and waved her goodbye as they headed towards the venue..

Hanan got out of the car and looked around. Faaiz was supposed to receive her at the entrance. She asked the driver. "He only instructed me to drop you here and he would be here"
She nodded.

She stood there for a while and fidgeted with her palm. As she watched as various couples dropped by and ever so lovingly linked hands together and entered. Some even took selfies. "Any problem ma?"

She gave him a reassuring smile. "All is well." she then noticed a lady advancing towards her.

"Good evening to you!" And she replied. "You also for the party?" Hanan eyed her as she took in her appearance. Putting on a knee length stunning ash gown. Her auburn hair neatly pinned to the side. She wore a silver heels and paired it with a silver purse.

"Sure I am."

She smiled warmly "Am Clara"

"Hanan"
