'Allah will never disappoint the sincere caller. Even when you think he hasn't answered you, he plans in your favour'

"So you do pray?" Hanan asked bewildered after he was done, to which Faaiz only smiled in return.

"Of course I do" was his response.

"B-but do-don't you-" He cut her off by chuckling lightly. He rolled the prayer mat and went to sit beside her and placed his arm around her.

He looked into her eyes, and smiled that heart robbing smile of his, showing off his dimple which she's the only one entitled to see. It only makes her love this man before her the more.

"I know what you wanna say. That a heartless man like me do believe in God, right?"He asked still smiling to which she nodded as that seem to be what she could do at the moment, cos her mouth can't seem to form words.

"You know, when I was still very young my mo-" he paused and she could tell he was in pain as it reflected on his expression. She squeezed his hands tightly as a form of reassurance. Faaiz smiled as his heart moved by the tiny gesture. Just what he needed now.

After a while, he pulled himself together and Hanan wiped his tears. He hadn't even realized he was crying. He smiled and continued as if that didn't just happened.

"Like I was saying, my mom made sure we had deep understanding of the deen" He closed his eyes deeply trying to forget those heart wrenching memories, he didn't want to be reminded of the past. As it still feels like yesterday when it happened, the wound still fresh and raw despite it being ten years.

But he had to do this, if not for himself but for the woman before him. He atleast owe her that. 'And problem shared, problem solved!'

Hanan rubbed circles on his hand and back to soothe his pain. She watched as his face grew weary, as if the weight of the whole world is on his shoulders. This man is full of mystery. She smiled. A mystery she'd definitely love to solve.

"Why are you smiling?" He asked and she shook her head 'Nothing' to which he rolled his eyes at.

Out of nowhere, he hugged her tightly and ran a hand through her soft long black hair. She stiffened at first, as she was caught off guard but she later relaxed in his embrace. He later pulled away and kissed her forehead.

"I love you" Hanan said sincerely all of a sudden looking deeply into his eyes. She didn't know what came over her but she did. She uttered the statement without thinking.

He was overwhelmed by the amount of love he saw in her eyes 'love you too' his heart says but he couldn't utter it. He didn't know whats keeping him, whats pulling him back. He could only smile awkwardly and motioned to continue.

"She taught us all we need to know about Islam. And that this life is just a test for us and we need to pass no matter what. That there will be that phase of our lives when there will be no hope left for us, and we have lost all our will to live, but that is not the end. But rather, its the beginning. Allah only test those whom he loves. And that phase is where a lot of people Fail the most. They then blame God for all their misfortunes and calamities, and above all, they lose faith in him.."

"But at a very young Age, I've learnt that it is that particular time your Lord needs you to become closer to him. And he needs your sincere Taqwa, and your patience above all. Moreover, Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear."

He smiled showing his cute dimples and placed his hands on both of her face, and he looked lovingly into her eyes making her heart skip a beat. "And an example is you"

"Me?" Hanan asked clueless and he nodded.

"Yes... You're one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I don't know what I would have become without you" he said kissing her cheeks and she blushed making him smirk mischievously.

"You know," he said moving closer to her "I love that colour on you" and she blushed deeper and he kissed her nose and all of a sudden bursted into a fit of laughter. She rolled her eyes at him.

"What's amusing you?" She asked pretending to be angry but he only pinched her cheeks and grinned widely. He sat her on his laps, making her face him.

"Nothing, I just love the fact that you could make me laugh and smile so easily" Hanan wrapped her hands around his neck. And they savoured some moments.

She took in a deep breath and fidgeted with her palm. She then asked the dreadful question she's been scared to ask, not knowing how he would react.

"Why is it that you never smile?"

****************
The Fanan moment❤. Hanan has asked the dreaded question. Am eager to know why too💃😋.

P.s: One of my favourite chapters😄. This was the first chapter, heck, a random chapter I had drafted before I even thought of writing any chapter in this book. It was the first inspiration I got before I started writing this story.
And I realized the '..But is the saying, never judge a book by its cover also applicable...' Part of the plot fitted perfectly with it.

You guys criticized my sweet Faaiz😀

Anyways, Hope you liked the chapter?
Short, I know. Next update soonest!
Show some love😘❤

Stay tuned!💕
