'I am still trying to understand why the universe brings two people together only to tear them apart. It is cruel' -LA
"I'm proud of our handwork." Mariam remarked, with a glint of pride as Hanan came downstairs and stood by her side. Hanan grinned as she also admired their handwork. They did an high five.
"Btw, you look stunning!"
"Thanks granny. Besides, you aren't looking bad yourself."
Mariam dismissed with a wave of hand. "Oh I beg to differ, what does an old woman like me have to offer?"
"Oh, but you wouldn't know."
"Oh, please save me the flattery." Mariam walked off, shaking her head. The guests were arriving already.
"Hey! Hanan right?" Hana heard from behind her and she turned around.
"Yeahh..." Her eyes widened in recognition. "Clara!" Hanan grinned. "From the last party!"
Clara grinned right back. "Guessed right then. Wasn't really sure of your name again." Clara smiled apologetically.
Hanan dismissed with a smile of hers. "I'm not actually offended." She glanced round the room. "Erm.. What of-"
"He's not here." Clara interjected. "Kelvin? Yeah. He went on a business trip so I came alone. Literally."
"Oh, okay. Have a splendid night. Enjoy!"
"Sure. I intend to enjoy my night to the fullest." Hanan grinned before she was pulled away, by yet another guest.
Hanan got pretty preoccupied and was answering some petty questions. She hadn't even realized she was popular as Faaiz's wife. Apparently, the declaration he made in the news the other day, and now, as she had just discovered, he seem to be showing off his wife at work. Which is rather overwhelming, and the amazing part? He's been bragging about how she's been helping out with his works and projects and other issues they've encountered at his company!
And her heart almost exploded from the amount of love for him. Hanan smiled and laughed occasionally at his business associates ."Guess someone is having fun without me." A hot breath fanned around her neck as Faaiz had whispered in her ear, and she shivered slightly from the proximity. Faaiz took her away from their midst.
"That was rude!" Faaiz made no comment as they moved to a less crowdy spot.
Hanan smiled when his hand snake around her waist, pulling her close to him. "So tell me, where have you been? You just seemed to vanish."
"And there's this thing called mobile phone, you know, to know about my where about."
"And if I'm not mistaken, I'm sure you'd find over fifteen missed calls on your phone." Hanan crossed her arm over her chest.
Faaiz leaned closer to her, "Sorry Rohi. It just happened to be on silent and I dropped it somewhere in the car."
"You know, it's called handset for a reason." She rolled her eyes.
Faaiz smiled softly. "I know right." He then sighed, "I just happened to be so carried away setting some things in place."
"Okay. So next time, before you open your mouth to make silly accusations, make sure you have no fault of yours either." Hanan rolled her eyes.
Faaiz chuckled, "Okay ma."
She groaned. "I am not old. So how was the meeting?"
Faaiz finally turned her around to face him. "It went well.." He suddenly felt speechless as the dim light shone on his wife. Hanan gave him a questioning look. "You look... Ravishing." He said awestruck.
