A DWINDLING DAWN
the one about a boy who's terminally ill and a girl who just wanted to show him the world.categories: small town; au
ROUGH SUMMARY
this one's heavy i imagined this to revolve around daniel being physically sick (and emotionally troubled) and how it's something that people just cannot change. ofc tries to educate him in art and literature and tried to change his outlook in life but it doesnt change the fact that daniel's time is pretty closeSCENES/PLOT IDEAS
- meeting idea: there's a library in the seavey household that was open to the public (they're like the richest family in the town) and ofc goes there. word spreads that their child daniel came home and ppl gossiped lots about why but it's actually because daniel is sick and he basically has low to no chances of recovering. one day, she was supposed to return a book and surprise there's someone else there who she's never seen in town before tada it's daniel
- daniel was in uni before he was diagnosed btw
- many existential crises addressed (like the true value of wealth, education etc.)
- title is from emily dickinson and they also discuss her other philosophies (forever is composed of nows etc.)
- talking about philosophies of other philosophers and trying to make sense of which one appeals to danielADDITIONAL
if anyone does decide to take the idea about it revolving around the idea of death and sickness, i really ask you to write it with great respect and sensitivity. i have a number of ideas for this story (again, if anyone's interested) but i do not have the capacity atm to write this
