Chapter 4
“OK. Awkward.” Sophia whispered behind her.
“Hi guys. Where have you been?” her mum said
“The mall. Do you mind if we have a sleepover?” asked Maya
“No of course not. We bought you some stuff from where we went and we also bought some stuff for your friends. I put them on your bed.”
“Thanks mum.”
They climbed up the stairs and went into Maya’s room. “That was really awkward” said Ryan.
They sat in a circle on the floor and opened the stuff Maya’s mum had bought them.
Maya got a few dresses which were really beautiful. Sophia got a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes and she screamed when she opened them. She ran down the stairs and hugged Maya’s parents and said thank you.
Ryan got a few storybooks he always wanted and Jeremy got the whole collection of his favourite band’s albums. “Your parents are awesome!” said all of them and Maya smiled.
There was also a whole bunch of snacks Maya had never seen before, more than 20 bars of different types of chocolates and the bars were huge.
Maya stored the chocolates in her mini-fridge and the bags of chips in her cupboard. Only a few types of snacks stayed on the floor and they decided to pig out.

Maya’s alarm clock rang and it was time to get ready for school. When everyone was awake, they took turns taking a bath in Maya’s bathroom. Jeremy and Ryan went to Jeremy’s car and took their spare clothes they always carried with them. Sophia borrowed Maya’s clothes since they were the same size.
They took three cars to school. Sophia was driving her Mercedes, Maya her Ferrari and Jeremy and Ryan went in the same car. They parked beside each other in the parking lot and walked to school.
They went to their lockers with were quite near to each other’s and took out the books they needed.
When they gathered together again Sophia asked “Who are they? I can’t believe they have better clothes than me.” There was jealousy in her voice.
Maya turned around and saw four new students she had never seen before. “Transfer students. Someone told them about me yesterday but I did not know they would be coming so early.” Ryan said.
There were two girls and two guys. They were all so perfect-looking. The girl on the right had shoulder-length blonde hair and the other girl had long dark hair. Both the guys had blonde hair and were equally handsome except one of them looked sweet and the other looked like one of those players you wouldn’t want to mess with.
Mrs. Finnigan, head mistress of their school was leading them towards her office.
“That guy is super cute.” She said looking at the sweeter one of the two guys.
The bell rang startling all four of them. They said their goodbyes and went to their own classes. Sophia had all the same classes as Maya so they walked together to the biology room.
Halfway through class, Mrs. Finnigan came in with the two guys and introduced them to the class.
The sweeter one was Kendall Sweets. Well his name kinda suits him thought Maya.
The other one was Erik Dent. Kendall sat in front of Maya and Erik sat beside him, which is also in front of Sophia. She was beaming when she called Maya. She definitely had some tricks on her Maya laughed silently.
Class was starting when Erik turned and looked straight at her and winked. Maya raised an eyebrow and decided to ignore it.
At the end of class Maya packed and was heading towards the door when someone pulled her back. Sophia had already made friends with Kendall and had already walked out of class.
Maya looked at the person who pulled her back and saw that it was Erik. “Yes?” she asked
“Whats your name babe?” he asked
Maya rolled her eyes and turned and walked as fast as she could out off class. She headed towards the girl’s toilet and hid in one of the stalls and kept quiet. She heard Erik’s footsteps pass and she waited in the stall for a few minutes before coming out of it.
She looked in the mirror and fixed her hair. She walked out off bathroom and bumped into someone.
“Hi Maya. Do we always have to meet like this?” She looked up and saw Ian standing right there in front of her. Her legs turned to jelly because he was standing so close.
“What happened? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.” He said smiling.
Maya shook her head. Get a hold of yourself idiot! She scolded herself.
“Hey, I was wondering maybe we could go out this Saturday?” he asked
“Umm…” Maya cleared her throat “Yea, sure.”
“Can I have your number?” He asked. They exchanged numbers and Ian said “Great. I’ll pick you up at six.” He winked at her and walked away. Omg! That did not just happen. I’m not dreaming right. Did that really happen? All these questions were running through her mind.
Just as she was about to turn and walk away someone called her name. She turned around and saw Ian running towards her. “Hey, we have third period together anyway. I’ll walk with you.”
