"Pyrrha?"

"Jaune!"

Ruby swung her scythe, piercing the Grimm. It  howled, it's body disintegrating and the armband fell on the ground. The Grimm seemed to have shaken Jaune up- it was only a creep. But the fact that it had Pyrrha's armband...

"Jaune, are you alright?" Ruby asked. "Wait a moment... is that... is that Pyrrha's armband?"

"Yeah," Nora said softly. "It is."

"Oh, god," Weiss' eyes widened. "But- Pyrrha- how?"

"I saw her," Ruby's voice broke, and everyone turned to look at the girl. "I-I saw her, I saw her get disintegrated right in front of me... there's no way that's her armband, e-everything was disintegrated except for-"

"Her headpiece," Jaune finished. "What even...?"

"Does this mean that there's a possibility Pyrrha's still alive?"

"That's impossible. She was burnt to ashes," Ren reminded them. "Pyrrha didn't deserve death, but we shouldn't hold out hope for something that's not true."

"It's also impossible for an armband to survive being burnt to ash," Jaune whispered. "Think about it-"

"Jaune-"

"I'm just- I'm just trying to think of all the possibilities," Jaune sighed. "I know, it's silly of me, but if there's any chance Pyrrha's still alive, I'll take it."

"...I'm coming with you, Jaune," Ruby agreed, her silver eyes widening. "Penny and Pyrrha... they didn't deserve what happened to them. Penny was so innocent, Pyrrha was so kind... if we can save at least one, let's go."

"What about Haven?"

"The bad guys are most likely where Pyrrha is," Blake said after an awkward silence. "We can take them out there."

"That's the enemy base, assumingely," Ren pointed out. "They're going to have so much backup."

"So we just have to be ready!" Weiss reminded them. "We've gotta come at them, with everything and more!"

"I don't know if we can," Yang moved her right arm, and as she did so, it trembled. "I still don't really know how to use my arm."

"I'm not sure how much help I'll be," Jaune responded. "I..."

"Jaune," Ruby put her hand on his shoulder. "You'll be alright. You're a great leader. You have nothing to worry about."

"It's responding well," Tyrian cackled. "It's angry."

"How fortunate," Salem replied, her red eyes closing in content. "This is turning out well."

"What do you plan to do with her?" Hazel asked, folding his arms.

"I thought that was obvious," Salem turned her head slowly. "We're going to use it like everything else. A weapon."

"...th.." Cinder pounded her fist on the table in frustration from being unable to speak. Emerald leaned down so that Cinder could whisper into her ear.

"She wants to know about 'the girl'..." Emerald told them. "The one with silver eyes."

"We will deal with her once we can," Salem's eyes narrowed. "We must be prepared. If she has learned to harness her gift, then Cinder, you must be prepared to protect yours."

"...so where is this somewhere?" Blake finally broke the silence. "We have no idea where their base is."

"Oh, yeah," Ruby realized. "Uh, I didn't really think that far ahead.."

"Why don't we start heading to Haven," Yang suggested. "I'm sure as we head over there, we'll find people that can lead us to Cinder."

"That's true," Weiss agreed. "Guess all that arguing earlier was rather pointless."

"Well, I'm glad we can all get along now."

After a long trip to Haven, they'd finally made it. Upon arrival, they smiled at the bright lights and overall good condition of the city.

"It's so pretty," Ruby breathed. "Wow..."

"It is," Jaune agreed, looking out. "Wow.."

"Let's go rent a hotel," Weiss interrupted them. "Then we can talk to whoever the headmaster is of the school."

"It's not like they're just gonna let us in," Blake reminded her. "What are we going to do?

<><><>

"I can't believe they just let us into the school," Blake sighed. "Honestly, with security like this, it should've been Haven that was overrun with Grimm."

"Well, we just look like students," Yang pointed out, playing with her mechanical fingers. "I'm sure this is nothing new."

"Oh, that's true," Ruby agreed. "So... where's the headmasters office?"

"Wait! Before we do that," Nora interrupted, a smile on her face. "I've got a friend who knows! Let me call her!"

After Nora's quick phone call consisting of the words 'we're here!' She put her phone away. Soon enough, a girl with long blue hair walked towards them.

"This is Nebula!" Nora grinned. "She's gonna show us around."

"Hey," Nebula greeted, blinking her purple eyes. "Follow me."

The group followed the blue haired girl to a series of corridors, where they finally made it to the headmasters room. Nebula knocked on the door, and it opened.

A man sat there, looking worried. However, he tried to put a happy face on as they entered.

"Ah, students," The gray bearded man put his hands on his lap. "How can I help you?"

"We're from Beacon," Ruby told him, and his eyes widened. "My name's Ruby! This is Weiss, Yang, Nora, Ren, and Jaune! And-"

"And Miss Nebula," The man nodded. "You survived the Beacon attack? I'm Professor Lionheart."

"We did," Ruby responded, slightly less chipper as she thought of Pyrrha. "Professor, we want to help defend Haven Academy just in case it's attacked."

"I appreciate the effort," Lionheart smiled. "Unfortunately, I cannot accept your help since you are just kids-"

"We're here to help," Yang frowned. "Why should age matter? We're not really kids anymore, either."

"If your safety is in concern, I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Besides, you all should be at home recovering."

"We want to help!" Weiss scowled, refusing to accept no for an answer. "With or without your permission, we will be here when they come for Haven. Wouldn't you rather us be working together?"

"Weiss... Weiss Schnee, is it?" Lionheart mused. "I-"

"My name doesn't matter," Weiss sighed. "I want to help. We want to help. So let us!"

"...fine," Lionheart sighed. "I will contact you for training soon. That will be all."

As the group left, Lionheart closed the door and picked up his scroll.

"Salem? They're here."

Hey everyone, I know it's been awhile

I actually did this whole chapter today, someone's comment made me happy so I started writing this again :)

I don't remember how Lionheart contacted Salem in the original, and was too lazy to look it up, so yeah...
