It all happened so fast. In a blink of an eye, half of the school perished, slaughtered mercilessly as they helplessly tried to run away, only to leave those who survived to cry for their lifeless bodies.

Panic and fear ran fast through my body, as if I were to turn into one of those things.

I finally got a hold of myself when I noticed everyone coming closer. I looked around to look for Robbie, but he wasn't anywhere in sight.

I can barely remember anything that just happened, other than those horrible things that had just attacked the campus. They were one our teachers, though. But the only other thing that I seem to have remembered is that thing that came from the sky, the glowing orb. But where is it? Where did it go? I only remember that I tried to grab it, but somebody else got it before me. He was too fast, for me to grab the orb, whatever it is.

Once again I glanced around to look for Robbie, but instead of seeing him, I spotted the orb in someone's hand. It was the guy who got it. I just didn't know who. He looks familiar, but he was too crowded by people for me to see his face.

I came closer to the crowd surrounding him. It was Aaron. He got it. The guy who sat with me and Robbie just a while ago during class.
He probably fainted at some point, judging by how his hair looked and seeing him lie on the floor. But no worries, he's still breathing.

I saw the orb on his hand. It was floating on his palm, glowing blue. It must have come from space, delivered by some meteor or sent by aliens like the ones from the movies, well, or at least that's what it looked like to me.

A few guys, who looked to be around 15 (probably our seniors), decided to carry him going to the gym. We waited for him to wake up, but it was taking very long, causing most of the people to just start talking about what had just happened.

I spotted my batchmates gather themselves up in one spot, thankfully a lot of us are still alive, well, barely. My classmates gathered in one spot.

I came closer. I overheard them talking about who had just died. The news was too saddening to hear, but I was too curious to not listen. My classmates started mentioning the names of the people from our class who have just been killed minutes ago, most of them I knew, some of them were even my friends from my previous years.

The students mentioned were, (names have been censored for anonymity.)

I felt the silent breeze of condolence that swept through the crowd. Most of them were crying, even the boys, even the bullies.

It must have been their first time seeing death.

Lance: Everyone's gone now, huh.

A long pause of silence struck everyone. This was truly a day for mourning. I wonder what this year would've been, sharing memories with the people that were supposed to stay by you, unmade friendships ended.

Josh: So what happens now? Do we stay in here?

Rafael: It's better here than staying outside. That place might still be crawling with those things, and we won't expect it.

Josh: If that's the case, then why aren't they attacking us then? Those things were strong enough to slam through a wall, I've seen it.

Lance: Hey did you idiots just forget? That guy over there grabbed some orb that somehow turned those things to dust.

Josh: How sure are you that EVERY one of those things have been turned to dust?

Rafael: Yes, but the question is if will they come back. What if there's more of them? What will we do?
