Arriving at the Valentine family house, I stared at it in awe. Every time we paid his family a visit I was always reminded of how different Maxen and I were. He came from a family who was doing quite well financially. His father started Valentine Enterprises, then retired and gave Maxen free reins Nowadays Mr. Valentine was mostly doing tennis and reading through every science fiction book that was ever written. He was taking it easy while he let his son lead Valentine Enterprises. I'm sure Mr. Valentine was a proud father since Valentine Enterprises was doing better than ever since Maxen took over. Thomas opened the door to the backseat, Maxen stepped out first and grabbed my bag. He then held his hand out to me.

"Come on, darling."

Grabbing my bag which contained my phone and other personal belongings, I trailed my eyes back to Maxen and licked my rather sensitive lips. Ignoring the knowing look he threw me I reached for his hand. He tightly held on and helped me to my feet.

"I can't do this," I whispered to him.

He leaned in, being unusually close to me which didn't make Thomas flinch. Then again he had witnessed much worse before he decided to give us privacy. Maxen's lips were close to my ear, brushing my hair which covered it. His hand pressed onto my lower back, his fingers splayed while he took his time speaking up. He was teasing me, driving me crazy with his heath wrapping around me and reminding me of us making out almost the entire ride to his family house. I had no control over the fact that my cheeks heated up, showing those around me how bothered Maxen got me with simple touches.

"Darling, you can do anything. You've proven that to me numerous times. The fact that you're a legend at Valentine Enterprises says a lot too, doesn't it?" He spoke quietly to me, his voice very soothing which made me calm down a tad.

"I got this," I told myself.

Pulling away from me Maxen faced Thomas, "We'll see you Sunday evening."

Thomas's eyes softened, "Yes, I'll be here Sunday evening." He confirmed, "Have a lovely weekend." He then walked around the hood of the car and got in the driver's seat. I watched Thomas drive away, knowing that had been my last chance to run away.

My eyes widened when I felt Maxen reach for my hand, holding it tightly as he dragged me with him to his family house. I tried to pull my hand away, but he wasn't having it.

"Maxen!"

He glanced over his shoulder, "To my family, we're practically married." He reminded me.

I knew very well that his family treated me like I was his wife, but I was not. I wasn't anything to Maxen yet. We purely gave into our instincts, devouring each other because those had been feelings which had been simmering deep inside us. It was bound to get hot and messy now that we knew we could express our feelings to each other. I stopped fighting and let him lead the way to his family house. The minute we were walking up the steps the front door burst open, revealing an excited looking Jasmine.

"Max!" She ran up to him until she noticed he was not only holding my bag but also my hand. I couldn't see his face, but I was pretty sure he looked determined to the point it would make you anxious to approach him head on.

"Sister." Maxen greeted which made the younger woman roll her eyes at him.

"Seriously?" Jasmine pouted her lips, placing her hands on her hips, "It's mom and dad-" She trailed her eyes to me, "Your darling Ruby and me you call, sister?!" She asked, her grey eyes alight with disappointment.

Maxen released my hand and placed his hand on top of Jasmine's head instead, "I was just messing with you, sweetheart." He wrapped an arm around her and pulled her in, "Don't be so upset with me."
