Vanessa's pov
"Jacob stop changing the song!" I yelled at my annoying little brother as i continued to drive.
"Im bored! We have been driving for years. " The 17 year old whined while continuing to change the song.
"Its only been three hours and we are already here." I rolled my eyes as i parked my honda in the driveway of our new house. I looked over to the left of the drive way to see my mom pull in with her car. "I should've drove." Jacob complained for the 13th million time.
I rolled my eyes at him. "Shut up and get out."
We lived in a nice house in San Diego all our lives until now that my parents just split all thanks to my stupid father.
He thought '0h let me just cheat after 22 years of marriage' and when my mom found out it was all bad. Now they are divorced and i no longer want anything to do with him. It was a betrayal.
He still pays child support which is the bare minimum. Since they divorced my mother decided it was best to move closer to family. She lived here in Freeridge when she was younger but moved to San Diego when she married my father.
Our family still lives in Freeridge which is where we are right now. My mom bought a house in the same neighborhood that is way cheaper than back in San Diego.
I personally didn't care that we moved since i have no friends that im leaving since they are all busy with college. Except one of my bestfriends Eli who im going to miss him so much. Of course we promised to try and stay in touch. I'll visit him and he can visit me. Other than that, im ready for a fresh start.
"Lets look inside." My mom smiled while unlocking the door. I could see she was trying her best to make this work. She was strong for handling everything the way she has. I'd be a mess if i was in her shoes.
I walked inside to where the living room is and i just looked around the house. The house had 4 small bedrooms.
Of course i got my own room. Elaina and Jacob did too and my youngest sister Aniyah was sleeping with my mom since she would do that even if she had her own room. We figured by the time Aniyah was grown up enough to sleep by herself i'd probably be out on my own already.
I walked into my room. It was small but i didnt care as long as i didnt have to share with my annoying sister, Elaina.
I sat on the bed that was already placed in here and sighed as the mattress squeaked. I could hear Elaina continue to bitch about moving to what she called a "shit hole" and i couldnt help but feel bad for our mom.
She got betrayed by the guy she loved so much just for him to cheat on her. The worst part was she walked in on it. Which i couldn't help but get angry about because i witnessed it too.
"Vanessa!" I stood up and walked over to my mom who was putting the plates away in the kitchen cupboards.
"Can you and Elaina walk to the corner store and get some milk." She sighed, clearly exhausted.
"Okay lets go." I said whilr dragging Elaina out the house.
"We are walking?" Elaina groaned as she stomped behind me.
