Fast forward 5 years.
"You ready?" Oscar asks me as i walk out the house.
"Yeah." I smile as i grab the small back pack.
"Ryder lets go." Oscar calls as our 5 year old son runs out the house dressed up.
"Ooo he looks all grown up." Sad eyes smiles as the santos all give Ryder a big hug before he goes to his first day of kindergarten.
Oscar dressed him up today and he looked so cute in his black button up with gray khaki shorts and black and white old skools.
"My baby is so handsome." I squeal as he jumps into my arms.
"Momma lets go! I wanna see my girfwend." He says im his cute little voice.
"Excuse me you dont have a 'girfwend." I say as he just smiles at me.
"You are just like your daddy." I shake my head as the guys laugh.
I look at Oscar as he smiles at me.
"You heard the boss. We gotta go so he can see his girlfriend." Oscar laughs as he unlocks his car.
"Its the first day. How is he gonna have a girlfriend?" I laugh as he shrugs.
"The Diaz men are pretty attractive. Dont hate." He says making me laugh.
"Yeah momma dont hate." Ryder says copying his dad.
They were so much alike. They look the same except I made Ryder have hair cause he looked super cute. If he wanted to go bald in the future then he can but not right now.
But he copied everything Oscar does and its adorable but they always get into trouble. Always.
Last week they were trying to make a cake for Cesar's birthday and the frosting was smeared all over Oscar and Ryder's face.
I was happy. I didn't get mad about all the messes they made. Because in the end it was so worth it.
My babies were happy. They had the bonding experience Oscar always wanted.
But Ryder was lowkey a momma's boy.
When he gets hurt he comes to me. When he's upset he comes to me. And when hes scared he comes to me.
He was a mouthy, sensitive, goofy kid. Just like Oscar.
Oscar drove to the school and was just listening to Ryder go on and on about how he wanted a car just like 'dada'
"Okay we are here baby." I say to Ryder as he tries to get out of his carseat.
Oscar and i got out and he carried Ryder all the way inside the school.
"I got legs dada." Ryder says which made me laugh.
"He learns that shit from you." Oscar says looking at me as i smile. "Good." I say happily. Oscar put him down and handed him his backpack that looked bigger than him.
