"So you go to Bridge Way?"
"I do," I replied
"I've never seen you around," he focused on my face
"Maybe you just weren't looking"
"Mmmm," he hummed and nodded his head

I quickly looked away and went to my other chair that I hadn't moved (which was out of the windows view)
I picked up my phone and called Brynn
"Hey!" She started but I cut her off
"Holy shit. Brynn. Do you know Nick Jackson?!"
"Obviously!" She laughed, "Who doesn't really? He is best friends with Stephen Sun. The hottest guy in school. By the way, do you think he'd date me? Like I know it's a long shot but-"
I cut her off again, "NICK IS MY NEIGHBOR" I said sternly
"No way." She said sounding unconvinced
"I swear. And I just saw him shirtless and he saw me see him shirtless! AHHH BRYNN WHAT DO I DOO"
"OH MY GOD! I can see it now! You guys are gonna date! And you'll have like the 'cute girl next door' story!" She said excitedly
"That's so cheesy and clichè... Okay but anyways WHAT DO I DO?!" I repeated
"Okay! Is he still there?" She asked
"I dunno! I fleed!" I replied
"Well check!" She yelled
"Okay okay." I said as I slowly got up from the chair
I peeked out the window and he was still there, just on his bed with his phone
"Yeah he's still there, but he's on his bed now" I said to her
"Naked?!" She said excitedly
"No!" I yelped
"Lilly!" My dad yelled from downstairs
"Listen, I gotta go, I'll call you back later" I said and hung up

I walked back over to my window to see him walking out of his room
Then I quickly went downstairs
"What's up?" I asked
"What do you want for dinner?" He asked
"I dunno?" I replied
"Shit I don't wanna go out again, imma just post mates. Smash Burger?" He asked
"Fasho" I replied then there was a knock on the door
And I'm pretty sure I know exactly who it is
"The neighbors." I whispered looking towards the front door
"The neighbors?" My dad asked walking to the door
He opened it and we were greeted by three guys, two older ones and Nick in the back...
"Hello!" One of the older guys says
"We're your neighbors right there," he said pointing towards their house, we baked a cake for a welcoming gift!" He finished
"Oh! Thanks dude! Oh um come on in" my dad said stepping back
The guy handed him the strawberry cake and then my dad turned to the kitchen to put it down
"Hey! I'm Lilly! Thank you for the cake!" I said smiling and walking up to them
By now, they were all in and Nick was looking right at me
"Hi," I say glancing at him
"Hey." He said
"Oh I'm sorry! I'm Chase! This is Andrew, my husband, and this is Nick, our son," Chase said to us
"I'm Lilly, and this is my dad, Dom" I said smiling
"It's nice to meet you guys," Andrew says
Then we all sat on the couch. The parents small talked and I listened and Nick looked at me almost the whole time
