Should we happen to be wearing matching outfits, this is a valid question. However, for many twins, this is a rare occurrence reserved for special occasions (e.g. a wedding, a religious holiday). From time to time, twins will wear matching or identical outfits just for the fun of it, or when put up to it by their parents. Hardly ever do a set of twins dress exactly alike, all of the time. Another misconception we owe to the media. Twins in film dress like one another so viewers can make no mistake that they are, in fact, twins. In my experiences, this is not the case for real-life fraternals.
I once met a child whose definition of "twins" was people who dress the same. My job is to disprove that myth. Just because we got stuck sharing a birthday does not force us to share our wardrobes.
