(Monday)
I go straight to my locker, just like I do every morning when I get to school, and get my books. I turn around and am surprised to see Dan standing there with his books. “How long has he been standing there,” I ask myself in my head. “Hey, Dan! Where’s Wayne?”
“He’s still at his locker. He’s really slow,” he said with a giggle in his voice, “Our other two friends, Ben and Platz, also moved here. We don’t have any classes with them, but we are in the same lunch. We don’t know anyone in the school yet, so if there is room at your table would it be ok for the four of us to sit with you?”
There was obviously space at our table for them, it was only me, Kaitlin, and Ryan sitting there, “Absolutely! There’s plenty of space for you guys.” We start to walk down the hall to Wayne’s locker and I try to conceal the smile creeping itself onto my face, without looking like an idiot.
