We pull into Pizza Hut’s parking lot and automatically see Dan, Wane, Ben, and Platz waiting outside the door. Once Ryan parks his car we get out and go inside. There wasn’t a table big enough for the seven of us, so we had to push two tables together. We get our sodas and order a large pepperoni pizza. “So what movie are we going to see?” I ask.
“We were planning on seeing the new Transformers movie if that’s okay,” Platz said.
Both, Kaitlin and I said “Sounds great,” at the same time.
Our pizza finally came, and we dug right in. Dan is sitting across the table from me and every now and then, when I look up, I catch him staring at me with a sparkle in his eye. Not a tear or anything, but like he sees something special, like a kid in a candy store. Every time I catch him looking at me, he looks down at his plate and a small smile appears on his face.
