~Third person P.O.V~ (In a small village hidden by trees year X356)
The suffocating scent of blood and smoke fills the air. The night sky was lit up with a brilliant red-orange hue. The ear ringing cries of the village people as they were slaughtered left, and right no one being spared only children not old enough to remember this day. The people of the town having no way of protection against the assaulters. Fear, pain, and sorrow was brought upon them and called salvation. His eyes filled with tears from the smoke. A dull numbness coated his small petite frame. The blazing orange was lighting up his face in the darkness. A blank look rested on his face. Unimaginable pain swept over his body. Releasing a blood-curdling scream, he fell to his knees. His sight blurred with tears. His senses dulled. He could only focus on the sight before him. The bodies of his family, friends, townsmen all laid lifeless on the ground around him. His vision blurred, his mind was unconnected from this reality. His body was unresponsive to his commands as he collapses onto the blood-soaked ground. The shouts of the attacker, along with his peoples, screams faded out to nothingness. When he came too all that was left around him was the corpses of his village people and the soot of his old home. The knowledge of what has happened through his young mind into a flurry of thoughts. Having nowhere else to got he needs to learn to fend for himself. All he has known is this village and its people. He tried to recall some of the survival tips his father had taught him. He soon realized he had to find shelter seeing as most of the houses were unfit to live in where he currently was. he had to go deeper into the village. He stepped his small seven-year-old body, cautiously quickly making its way to a partially whole house. There were a few holes in the walls and broken windows but nothing too unfixable. He went through the door and examined the front room. It was an open family room with a fireplace. Surrounding the fireplace was a brown couch, two matching chairs in the middle was a plain brown coffee table. On the wall was a bookshelf filled with novels sold to them by the ones who travel outside the small town. There's an average size dining table off a little way from the kitchen. There are no signs of magic in these rooms which it should be. The leaders and educators of the village made it very clear that magic is banned. This wasn't always the rule many of the elders use to speak of a time where the village was overflowing with wizards and the usage of magic though it was always believed as a made up delusion. He heads upstairs to see the bedroom and bathroom both seem very average in the points of looks so he decided to head back to the kitchen and see how much food he has before he must get more. Speaking of food reminds him to check and see if their crops are ok. After checking the crops finding more than half were destroyed, he figures he must keep the remaining alive if he wants to stay that way too. He looks around the village to see what else is left. He sees that the bakery is left standing as well as the library and some other residential lots. He finally decided to acknowledge the corpses that litter the ground. He sighs and says a quiet prayer before deciding to bury them there are more than 30 corpses, so he works all day and night digging the graves for his loved ones. After their burials, he leaves flowers on each grave in a promise to remember their teachings and guidance. After the long day, he goes to rest. Though out the years after the attack, there is only one thing that changed his life. His discovery that magic isn't as bad as the village leaders and educators made it out to be at this time he just barely turned eleven. That day was burned into his memories as the best day of his life. Some travelers stumbled upon his home; it was getting late, so they stopped for the night. There was a male and a female the female was coated with a dark color scheme while the male was a blue color scheme. He watched them from afar to make sure they mean no harm. During the process of his observation, he learned their names. The female is Lina while the male is Jin. They were wizards. During their stay, they were attacked by one of the forest protectors. They used their magic to fend off the beast. He watched in amazement. Jin used water magic, and Lina used dark magic. It was the coolest thing he has ever seen. He walks over to Lina. He gently tugged on her pants leg. She quickly turns around and shoots him with a black orb of magic. His magic hits him and sends his frail body to the ground a few feet away. "Oh god, Lina that was a kid!" Jin said with a horrified look to his face. "Fuck..." She mumbled before quickly making her way over to him. Lina checks his vitals before letting out a sigh of relief. "He'll be fine, but whats a twelve-year-old boy doing out here on his own?" She asked with a concerned look on her face. Jin only shrugged at her question. In a few hours, the boy wakes this is quickly noticed by the two adults around him. "Jin he's awake!" Lina called to her blue partner. He rushed over to check on the boy who could only stare up at them. "Hello." She said softly. The boy looked at her, confused "H-hh," he stops and scrunches his face up in confusion. "H-h-hello?" He managed to stutter out with his partially broken voice. Jin was shocked by this he assumed the boy has been here for years, and yet he seems to understand and communicate. He stared at the woman before him in fascination. Her jet black hair glistened against the pale light of the moon. Her striking green eyes pierced through his soul, yet he couldn't free himself from her spellbinding gaze. Her gaze was dripping with concern. He shifted his head to look at the male. He was a rugged and scruffy man. His hair was a deep shaggy navy blue though it still looked surreal in the moonlight. His brown eyes held unreadable emotions for the boy before him. This was the day he met the people who would teach him the way of magic.
