Lucy's POV
I walked through the entrance of the guild and something seemed..odd?The usually loud and rowdy guild was weirdly quiet. Just the small murmur of people having a conversation. I looked around and spotted Natsu at a table. Maybe he know what was up.

I started toward him," Hey Nat-" I stopped half way, surprised at his reaction when he spotted me. He quickly scrambled out of his seat and sprinted out to the guild.

I looked around to see if anyone witnessed what had happened but only Grey seemed to see and just shook his head with a small smile.

Hoping to have my questions answered, I head over to the bar where I'm greeted by Mira." Hey Lucy, what can I get you today?"

I bang my head lightly on the counter."An explantion"

I hear Mira giggle."An explantion on what?"

I look up."On why Natsu literally ran at the sight of me and how this silence is very unusual? "

Mira let a small giggle out, clearly amused at my confusion."Its mating season."

"Yeah, your response just made me question a lot more. Care to elaborate?" I say raising an eyebrow.

"It's the season where dragon slayers choose thier mates for all enternity"she says cheerfully

I stare at her."Eternity...wow"

She hugs the tray she holds."I find it so romantic, wouldn't it be amazing to be chosen?" Her eyes seemed to send a message I refused to accept.

"Yeah..I suppose. Though how does this fit with why Natsu would be avoiding me?"

"Well..from what I've heard. Dragon slayers get..urges,"Her lips turned into an evil smirk." Urges they can't control. Not for long. Especially if they've found who their looking for."

"Still not answering my question." I said still confused.

"Lucy you aren't getting it! Who do you think Natsu has chosen?" Mira said impatience clear in her voice.

"Who he's chose- no. It cant be me. He doesn't..like me." I say feeling a little deflated hearing it out loud.

Mira clears her throat." You must be joking. Please recall the last few weeks you two have spent. Away. Alone."

"We had Happy." I correct her.

"Doesn't count. You two were alone on a vacation. Partners don't do that. Groups of friends do. Couples do. Do you understand what I'm saying?" She says raising an eyebrow.

"Okay, let's say you are right. How would I know he's lost control already? Has mating season even started?" I ask giving into Mira's crazy matchmaker self.

"Oh honey it started two weeks ago." She smirks leaning against the bar.

"So when we were on vacation..he was in heat?" I whisper.

Her eyes scanned me as if they were looking for something. I guess she found it because her eyes widened to the size of saucers." Lucy let me see your neck."

"What?" My hand reaches for my neck." Why?"

"Trust me please." She said turning my head slowly.
