Sirius Black: Cold Hearted Man

Muggle AU so no magic and also Sirius was never in containment

I let out a huff and continued wiping down the counter soaked in whiskey and lager. It was a slow night at the bar, for once people could hear the music over the people which was saying something. The hum of 'When love and hate collide' changed 'Cold hearted man' as the door creaked open. I took a look up and let out a bitter laugh, "speak of the devil and he shall appear". Sirius took a seat at the bar, three stools away from my position. "Could I get a drink?" Sirius asked, making me look up. "Depends, how well can you handle your arsenic?" He let out a sigh and dragged a hand through his hair. "I'm a paying customer, I'm here the same as anyone else" I let out a low chuckle, "doesn't matter, my establishment I can deny service to any being I please". He clearly wanted to argue, I could tell by the look in his eyes. "I'm sorry okay. I've said it before and I'm saying it now. What's it gonna take?" Sirius asked, exasperated. "Padfoot, it's been five years and I haven't even considered forgiving you, if that isn't telling enough then I don't know what to say" I said, roughly setting down his drink, the same he used to get. "She remembered" Sirius thought as he took a sip. The hours rolled by and the crowds began growing, lots more people arrived and the place got a lot stuffier. For some reason Sirius had stayed put though, not leaving his original place not even to talk to the beautiful women eyeing him from across the room. "How about you go talk to her, she looks like your type. The same as the girl you cheated on me with" I bit at him. Sirius looked sad, like the reminder dug deep. "No, I'm good. I'd rather be here" Sirius whispered. I'd had enough of him being hear, just looking at him sent me into a spiralling of memories of the way he used to look at me and then with how I saw him look with that other girl in my bed, "Okay, Black. I just need to know. Why'd you do it? Why didn't you just break up with me if you're so fucking bad at committing to one person for more than a damn week?" I shouted, not loud enough for the room to look but loud enough for him to hear. His eyes glistened over, fighting back tears? "Well, (n/n). The truth is I loved you, I still love you and I was scared. I can't let myself love anyone 'cause they'll just leave me and I couldn't let that happen" I felt like I was going to explode. "So you made me go through that?! That's such a bullshit answer" I growled as I stormed away from him. "Folks I'm closing early tonight, I'm gonna need everyone to leave right now. Normal closing times will resume as of tomorrow" I announced. There were some groans and some annoyed faces but they all left without any trouble, well all except Sirius. "Love, please just lis- ", "no Sirius you listen. I loved you with all my heart. I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you and you know what I came home to? The man who I though loved me in bed with another woman. Thanks to you I haven't been able to date anyone for the fear that the same goddamn thing will happen again. So before you go on your little pity party know that this fucking situation is your fault" I shouted. It felt good to have that off my chest. Sirius looked at a loss for words, he had tears pooling in his eyes and his Adam's apple was wobbling. "You're right okay! You always have been! I know what I did was wrong and I've been paying the consequences every day since because I haven't been able to wake up next to you, cuddle into you when watching films or know that I get to come home to you every night! I know you'll hate my guts for the rest of my existence but that doesn't change the fact that I have been holding onto this for the last over 6 years"  he dug around in his pocket and pulled my hand to place whatever it was in it. "I'm sorry alright" Sirius said breaking down in tears. I examined the artefact in my palm. It was a gold ring with 3 small rubies on one side, his two favourite colours on me, they oddly always reminded me of him, they resembled his personality. I stared at him, unable to form words to say. "I know it's probably going to get me a slap in the face for asking this" Sirius chuckled sadly, "but would you want to try us again. I know it'll take a lot for you to trust me again but I'll wait a century if it meant I got to be with you, love". I let a shaky breath that I didn't realise I was holding in, "Okay Sirius. I-I'll give you another chance. But if you blow it I'll feed you to the dogs" he let out a laugh and wrapped his arms around me. "Ever the one for romantic sayings, love." We stood there in each other's embrace for whoever knows how long until Sirius broke the silence, "I love you, and I always will, Darling" I just gave him a little squeeze and buried my face more into his neck. I know it will take a while for my trust to grow back to Sirius back until that it will be nice having him around again.
