The Next Day

 Sunny's POV

I absolutely couldn't believe it! Starflight... The sweetest, kindest dragon I had ever met... Gone. Just gone. How could he have died? Did we even have the story straight? It was said that he had disappeared but... That doesn't mean he's dead!

I watched as the crowd of dragons came together. All of them had sorrowful looks on their face, maybe a hint of shock. I totally felt for them, they all got to know Starflight, and he was... One of the dragonets of destiny.

They went through the funeral, and finally it was my turn to say a speech. Sniffling I got up in front of the others and looked around. Some dragons were on the legdes, Skywings. Seawings were in little pools, Nightwings perched above the Skywings, Mudwings sitting on the cold stone, Sandwings on the sand that we had gathered. Rainwings clear out in the sun, listening but also tanning, and Icewings in the shade.

I gulped then took in a shaky breath, I then began my speech.

"Starflight was a wonderful dragon, and as all of you may know... He was also a dragonet of destiny. He was kind, nice, funny... And... Occasionally shy." I smiled a bit as I remembered all the talks we had had. "And he was... The best friend I could ever have." I sniffed, not knowing that dragons could cry, but apparently we were.

"We don't know yet how or why he left us, but he will be remembered. But I will not remember him because he was the strongest of the dragonets of destiny, not because he was always brave, but because he was loyal. He had found a way to be loyal to his tribe and us. He didn't betray us by letting the Nightwings overrun the Rainforest, but instead warned us. We launched an attack on the Nightwings with sleeping darts, then Starflight led Glory to Queen Battlewinner. They had found a compromise about what would happen, and now Rainwings and Nightwings both live in the Rainforest. They all got their wish. Yes it is very true that Starflight wasn't always the bravest dragon, but he did help save the locked up dragons in the cells, and for all the dragons that he saved he got blinded. But somehow he was able to see again, and he started living his life again. I will miss him, and I can't believe that he's gone, but... Let us all remember him for his loyalty."

I stepped back, revealing the shrine. It was a statue made out of stone, and it looked just like Starflight. In front of it lay a blue and black sparkly fabric, like the night sky. There were candles around it and beside the fabric some flowers. There was a R.I.P sign next to it and a picture of Starflight with the rest of the Dragonets of Destiny when we were younger. Flower and Daisy had helped out with a lot of stuff, and I was glad they did.

"Starflight, forever we will remember you." I said softly, the other former dragonets fanning out behind me.

We flew up into the air and Tsunami flew around the sky, holding some sort of can. tipping it slightly water drizsled over the other dragons like a light rainshower, but she kept it away from the Sandwings. Next Glory shot out her wings and flew so she was under the view of the sun. Deathbringer came up from behind her and dumped flowers and leaves in front of her. She flapped her wings so they would float around gently down to the ground.

Starflight would be remembered forever.
