Chapter 4

Tris' s P.O.V

I just kept running. I hate having all this anxiety building up inside of me and then it just explodes. I know they were just clapping, but I've never been treated like that before, and it scared me. I don't know where I'm running, but when I do, I'm at the lake, on the far side of the dorms.

I walk under a small hill leading up to a tree with a rope on it, to swing off of and dive into the lake. I sit on one of the jagged rocks and watch the waves of the lake rise and the mist of the water at my ankles. I feels so frustrated I throw the closest thing near me, which happened to be a pebble. It skips the water about 6 times before it sinks in the water. I get so distracted by the water, I don't hear Four approach me. When he does, I jump and nearly fall into the water, but he grabs my waist and turns me towards him. I stare at those beautiful stormy blue eyes for what feels like eternity, until I feel him set me back on the rock, which is when I break my gaze.

"Care to explain?" He asks. I shake my head answering him no. He nods as if approving my answer and looks at me. He starts to lean in and so do I but I don't know why. We're so close that we are sharing breaths. He's about to close the space when a person on top of the hill screams "SLENDY ALL THE TIME BIEACHES!" and jumps off the hill into the water having the waves come in fast and splash water all over me. I look closer at the person and see it was Sarah from the karaoke place. I sigh and stand up on the rock.

"I-I should go." I stumble out. I don't wait for a response and start walking the way back to the dorms. As I'm walking, Sarah's friend, I think her name was Kelsey, crashed into the water, having more water spray on me. I don't ignolish it, I just keep walking.

Once I reach the dorm, I see that all of the girls are in the other bedroom, so I just keep quietly, well, as quiet as I can, walk to my bedroom, change into shorts and a tank top, and throw my clothes into the laundry. I jump into bed, and listen to the muffled talking in the other bedroom, but at some point, I think I drift off to sleep, and the only thing I'm thinking about is stormy blue eyes.
