Meet Selene

There was a rustle in the bushes.

' I knew something was off.' I thought. 

" Jacob do you feel anything?" Emma asks. I notice her hand ignite itself on fire. Millard tightens his grasp on me.

" I can't feel anything so no. I don't think it's a hollowgast." Jacob says. But despite his reassurance, everyone still seemed tense. The suspense seem to hang in the air. So thick you could cut it with a knife. So I tried to lighten the mood.

" Jacob you never feel anything." I tease. I got a chuckle before everyone freezes at the sound of a twig snapping. 

" Meoww." A cat as black as midnight appears.

" Awwww." I squeal. The cat meows again and I start stepping toward it. But the closer I got, the more off something felt.

' They followed me. Run!' The cat thinks. Terrified, I stumble back and land on my biscuit.

" Ember!" Millard cries and helps me up. I was shaken. I couldn't read the minds of animals. Believe I knew well unless this cat was... oh. My. Gosh.

The cat hisses at me and darts into the shadows. Two bright emerald green eyes stare back at me. Almost like they were peering into my soul.

' I said hide you imbecile!' It thinks again. The cat meows again and soon I hear footsteps that were inaudible before. I scoop the cat up and run to my new friends. Once there I place the cat by my feet.

" Guys we need to hide. Like now." I say. Urgency was laced into my voice.

" Well it seems you're too late." A voice speaks. And instead of a cat by my feet, there stood a girl.

" Hello. I'm Selene Benaken." She introduces.

" Holy shit- you are human!" I cry.

Authors note: That was fun to write! I'm really excited by my new character Selene Benaken whom I based off a close friend of mine. Also shoutout to WildSpirit27 for helping write my book because this one is tough. I love ya girl!
