"So, what do you want to do?" Lily asked.
I kept my head down, staring at the table and picking at my skin like I had fleas. I let out a heavy sigh.
"Are you still thinking about Logan?"
"No."
"Then why aren't you in the mood to go karaoking? I mean, it's the reason we hung out here today. This is our hideout, as I call it."
I pull back on my chair and still have my eyes on the table. "I'm not in the mood. Don't feel like singing."
Lily didn't want to argue any further as I let another sigh. "Okay, how about shopping? You know you take your mind off things."
I shook my head.
Lily grunts, then look down at her phone, smiling. "Watch a movie?"
"It's a school night."
"So, we can watch for an hour or two. Oh! We can watch the new Jurassic World. Get to see Chris Pratt." I caught her brows wiggling.
"Yeah, he's hot, but..."
"Aw, come on, Effie." Lily moan in frustration. "You've been sulking since your birthday. You got to let it go."
The way she said it, I wish it were that easy. "Lily, have you ever been in love?"
She was about to open her mouth, but no words came out. "No, but I understand that an Adonis god-like Logan shouldn't be stressing you out just because he pities you."
"I couldn't get that off my mind. That day has been pinned to my brain and keeps repeating the scene like a movie." Looking distraught. "I understood why Logan picked me out of all the girls in the school. I'm so hopeless and a fool."
Lily didn't say a word, but I could feel her eyes on me. I know she wanted me to talk to her, but what should I say? That I'm fucking - no - absolutely fucking pissed off at Logan for using me just because I look like his dead girlfriend. I should have known right from the very start. I ignored him every day at school and being a neighbor. I never looked him in the eye.
"Ugh!"I groan, slamming my head on the table again and just moaning.
"Hey girls." hearing a familiar voice from Clark, I didn't want to look up and have him see me so depressed all the time. "Is Effie okay?"
"Yeah, she is just..." there was a pause. Go on and say it, Lily. I'm stupid. "Effie isn't in the mood today."
"Oh, because what happened at her birthday party." I heard a chair move, no more than one, and it seemed Clark brought his company. "Effie, you need to stop sulking like this. You're making us worried."
"That's what I said," Lily said.
"It seems about what you said to me, Clark. Effie needs to let loose." An unfamiliar male voice said.
I wanted to see who this person was, so I slowly lifted my head and glanced at him. When he saw me looking at him with such depressing eyes, he gave me a heartwarming smile. "Hi, I'm Sam."
My eyes were depressed, but a shock to see the boy much older than us was with Clark that day. It was him. So, this is Clark's boyfriend.
"Didn't need to put me in this conversation. I just wanted to give a small suggestion," he says softly with a hint of blush. Sam has the face of a girl, pretty and cute. Blonde short hair and brown eyes. His physic doesn't match Clark's, but they are similar in height. I don't see that every day.
"It's okay, Sam. I'm Lily. Thanks for suggesting, but there is no use in making Effie normal again. I get the feeling she is going back to being emo." Lily joked, making me scowl. "So, Sam, what do you have in mind as to let loose?"
