A week.

It's been one week since that night.

Luckily, the cops caught all the guys who were responsible and Lucas is no longer part of the gang. I scolded him for days about being involved and how he shouldn't keep secrets from me.

As for Corbin, he had a concussion and a few small injuries but he's fine now. I haven't seen him since that night. I've been busy helping and taking care of Lucas recovering from his gunshot injury.

But mostly, I think I've just been avoiding him. I wanted to figure out how I really feel for him. If my feelings for him was real or if I had just grown attached to him like I did with Lucas.

"Earth to Hazel..." Lucas snap me out of my dazed state.

"Sorry. I've been distracted lately." I fake a smile but I can tell he sees right through me by the skeptical look on his face.

"It's my first day back and it already feels like I've been here for eternity," Lucas complain about school.

"Stop your whining, you little baby." I ruffle up his hair.

"So the rumors are true," Meghan, the girl who kissed Corbin during the truth or dare game, approach Lucas and I, "You guys are dating."

Out of the blue, Lucas wrap his arm around me, "Yup."

She roll her eyes at the sight, "That's too bad. I was really rooting for you and Corbin." She fake a bitchy smile at me before leaving. I've never liked her.

I turn back to Lucas. "Well, I'm going to class now. See you later." I ruffle up his hair again to annoy him and leave.

"Oh come on. You still have 5 minutes before lunch ends!" He calls after me making me grin. I raise my hand and wave bye to him as I continue walking down the hall.

I turn around the corner and walk to my English class. The door is wide open and I enter quietly once I notice a certain boy sitting with his head down on the desk.

He's here early. I'm usually the only one here early. My face twist with confusion as I sit down quietly on the desk next to his and a smile slowly makes its way to my face.

I stare at him while he sleeps quietly. I can't help but smile when I see him. He sure does look peaceful when he's napping at school.

The cuts and bruises on his face has heal. There's only a scar of the cut at the corner of his forehead that's visible. I'm glad he's okay.

"You win," I tell him, my voice soft and low so I won't wake him up. To my surprise, he opens his eyes and sit upright, staring at me.

He was awake this whole time?

"What?" He question.

I sigh, giving up, and smile at him. "You win, Corbin Foxx. I, Hazel Reyes, has finally fallen deeply in love with you," I admit.

I thought he would be happy but the confused look on his face is not a happy one. "The rumors?"

"Are just rumors," I didn't hesitate to tell him.

Ever since that night and the fact that I've been helping Lucas all week, everyone has spread a rumor around school that Lucas and I are finally dating. It was annoying at first but I got used to it.

Corbin grin and smirk devilishly at my response, then quickly pull me to him and kiss me

Corbin grin and smirk devilishly at my response, then quickly pull me to him and kiss me. My eyes widen in shock.

"That's for avoiding me all week," he explained once he pull away. I scoff at him, playfully even though my heart is racing.

The bell rings, indicating the end of lunch and students quickly rush inside the room.

I start coughing and clearing my throat and shift uncomfortably in my seat when other students glance my way like they saw what happened earlier.

I turn to Corbin to see if he's as uncomfortable as I am, but to my surprise, he's staring at me with a grin and sitting comfortably in his seat.

I look away from him, avoiding his stare. My face is heating up and I can feel Corbin burning a hole through my head with his stare. I'll never get use to this.

Who knew this class started it all and was the reason why Corbin and I got a lot closer than I would think. Thanks to this class, now I know that the big bad bully knows how to love.
