In the den of the revenants, Nicole's mind wandered. While she had two guns on her and stood next to Doc Holiday, she didn't feel at ease. Doc smiled at every pretty girl that he saw, and he tipped his hat too. He played a part, whereas Nicole felt out of place. She changed when Doc advised to, and she had to be a little happy that she did so. If she had worn her uniform, no one was going to talk to her and they probably would've been attacked. As they walked, no one noticed the difference.

Doc and Nicole had entered at different times to underground Purgatory. Doc had lost many of friends when people learned of his friendship and courtship of Wynonna, Heir Earp. Nicole was on the edges as Doc walked through the middle. Revenants eyes glowed at her as she pushed through. Nicole did not stand the only human in the bar, and many of the woman in the bar dressed like her. Nicole tried to blend in as well as Doc did, so when revenant guys came up to her, she didn't act disgusted when the eyes turned red. She merely excused herself and said she already had someone special.

Bright lights flashed around on the club floor as humans and revenants danced. From where she stood, there was no way to tell who was human or revenant. Doc pushed through without even a glance back, knowing he was being followed. Nicole was no one when it came to revenants, but Doc had gained quite the following of revenants. It was basically a train.

Doc hadn't mentioned this place before, but he knew it well. Nicole guessed where Alice got her secret-keeping skills from. Nicole made her way through the crowd, especially as Doc led the string of followers out the back.

When Nicole exited the building, she found the alley crowded. Revenants hissed with teeth bared and eyes burning. Doc had his guns out yet didn't point them at anyone. With no one noticing Nicole's return, she stayed in the shadows and pulled out her own gun. Neither of them could kill a revenant, but at least they could get the information and go.

"Now, now," Doc said, "we can talk about this. I only want information."

"You must have some big balls to be here, Holiday," yelled a revenant.

"I do, in fact, as your friend." Doc winked at a revenant behind him. "It's an easy question: who's trying to kill me?"

"Everyone," replied the revenant.

Doc shrugged. "And who's trying to kill Wynonna Earp?"

"Everyone." Both of these answers were correct.

"Come on. Now there must be someone who is especially trying to kill us. Tell me who, and you can go."

"You're not the one holding us here," the revenant hissed. "We hold you here, and we'll kill you."

Doc laughed as Nicole aimed her gun. "That's not how it works." Doc raised his guns and pointed at the revenants.

"You can't kill us."

"I don't have to kill you," Doc said. "I just have to shoot you. It won't tickle."

"We can make a trade," hissed a revenant. "You give us information. We give you information."

"Tell me who plans on killing Wynonna Earp and me."

"First," the revenant began, "you tell us who the girl is. Who is the other one that holds the gun? We saw her killing."

Doc swallowed. How much information did he want to share? Nicole looked on, and she wasn't sure what she might do in his situation. What could the revenants do with Alice's information? Alice was in the hospital, and Waverly was with her. Nicole's heart ached, as suddenly Nicole feared for Waverly if Doc spoke.

"Her name is Alice," answered Doc.

"How does she hold the gun?" asked a revenant.

"She is an heir."

The revenant laughed. "And Rosita let her live. She is weak. You've made her weak, Holiday."

"Now the information about who is trying to kill us," Doc pushed.

The revenant gave you and gave the information. "You're looking for the Old One."

"All of you are old," Doc replied offended. "I'm old too. What does that have anything to do with it?"

The revenant wasn't impressed, and he had stopped baring his teeth. "The Old One doesn't come up much, but when he does, he kills everything and everyone. He's tried to kill revenants too. He hides in the sewers. I would start there."

"How do we know when we find him?" asked Doc as the revenants started to slink back into the shadows. Nicole flattened herself against the wall.

"He has an army." The revenants disappeared.

Nicole emerged from her own hiding place in the shadows and walked toward Doc. Relief flooded her that she wasn't shooting anyone today— well it was more relief that revenants weren't attacking her. Doc didn't have a happy face, and he didn't put his guns away yet.

"So," Nicole began, "what do we know about the Old One?"

"Nothing," Doc said and walked away. Nicole followed after him.
