*Luke's POV*

Winnie doesn't deserve a guy who puts her through as much pain as Calum does, I don't care how long he's known her. I watch her walk slowly up her front steps into her house, blowing her nose into a tissue. She's devastated by what happened. I quickly put together a plan in my head and pull out my phone, opening the Facebook app. This is a shot in the dark.

Earlier this year, Calum threw a party at his house, which Michael went to, but I didn't because I was feeling ill or something. I don't remember now, but that's not the important part. The important part is that Calum posted the invitation on Facebook with the address-his home address.

I find the invite and quickly find the house on a map. It's literally around the corner from Winnie's house, which makes this very easy, but also gives me less time to figure out exactly what I'm going to do.

I put my mum's car in gear and pull away from Winnie's house, driving a quarter of the way around the block before I come to the Hood house. I give my head a quick shake, putting my confrontation face on, before I climb out of the car and walk up the front steps. I give three quick knocks and step back from the door. It opens to reveal a short middle-aged woman who I take to be Calum's mother.

"Hi, um, is Calum here?" I say, suddenly unsure of my brilliant plan.

"Yes he is, are you a friend from school?" She has a kind voice and smile and I nod earnestly.

"Luke," I hold out my hand and she shakes it.

"Calum, there's someone here for you!" she calls up the stairs I the hall. "Come on in, dear, he'll be down in just a second," she says to me, gesturing to enter. I shake my head quickly.

"No that's okay. I just to talk to him for a minute. Besides, it's a nice day out. I'll wait out here." I don't want Calum's mother to hear any of this. She nods and smiles again as I hear footsteps pounding down the stairs. I take another hasty step back in the hopes that Calum won't see me until he's at the door and he can't run back inside.

"Who is it-" Calum freezes when he sees me, shock registering on his face.

"Luke, dear," Calum's mother says. "Is he a friend from school?" Calum glances at her and puts on a smile so disgustingly sweet and innocent that I can practically feel my teeth rotting. [I guess his mommy knows nothing about what her little pooh-bear gets up to every night]

"Yeah he is. How's it going, Luke?" He sneers slightly as he says my name. [His eyes are two twin coals of rage] "I'll just chat with Luke for a bit out here, mum. You can go back to whatever you were doing." She nods and leaves, giving me a parting smile. Calum turns to me, the fake smile vanishing immediately and his face contorting into an angry scowl.

"What do you want, Hemmings? Need me to even out the other side of your face?" Calum spits, crossing his arms across his chest.

"What do you think? Have you seen Winnie today?" I shoot back, ignoring his jab. He flinches almost imperceptibly at her name.
