My head was reeling from what Julian and I talked about over coffee as I walked back to Danny's. With every single step, it seemed that my cramps got worse, as well as the knot in my stomach got tighter and tighter.

A smile came on to my face as I rounded the corner of the block and saw his steps come into view. I picked up my pace and jogged up the steps, then burst through the door with a sigh or relief.

Finally-- Finally I could relax.

I walked straight to my room with no sign of Danny. I quickly changed into a pair of pajama pants and a NESN hoodie, then strolled out so I could grab my heating pad from the closet in the hall. When I moved to the kitchen, Danny was sitting at the island looking down at a few papers.

I put the heating pad down on a chair. "Oh, hi," I greeted with a smile as I moved over to grab a tea bag. "How was your day?"

Danny's nervous brown eyes looked back at me as he put the piece of paper down. "I-I... It was okay, I guess. How about you?"

I shrugged as I grabbed a mug and put some water in it. Next I moved over to the microwave and put it in. "It was okay... Kinda interesting, actually." I turned around, leaned against the counter, and crossed my arms over my chest.

His brown eyes were still looking at me contently.

"I got a phone call after the interview with Julian was posted... It was a request for a job interview with the New York Jets," I said. Danny visibly tensed.

"Did you? What did you say," he asked slowly, biting his bottom lip in the process.

"I told them thank you for thinking of me, but I think I'm happy in Boston right now... Ya know... I think it was Gene... I think he had something behind it... Like what are the chances with that? It doesn't matter though. I'm definitely not interested in leaving Boston," I rambled. "Guess what else happened today?"

"What," Danny asked quietly as he ran a hand through his dark hair.

"Mr. Edelman met me at the elevator as I was leaving work today." The microwave went off, so I didn't get to see his reaction. I grabbed my mug out of the microwave and then turned around as I dipped the teabag in the hot water.

"Oh god. What did Julian do now? Please don't tell me he pulled the same shit as last night! I knew I shouldn't have confronted him," Danny grumbled as he pushed his seat back and slid off it. "I'm calling him right now."

"No, Danny, don't. He was just apologizing... He was great about it. Even bought me a coffee," I mumbled. I moved away from my mug and quickly slipped around the corner of the counter, so I was just inches away from Danny.

I wasn't going to rat Julian out for the personal information he told me about Danny. I reached for his hand and held it in mine. "Thank you," I whispered as I looked into his brown eyes.

They were soft and comforting. "Was that really all he did?" Danny asked as he squeezed my hand a little tighter.

I nodded as I brought my free hand up and placed it on Danny's chest. "Yes. He was a gentleman about it. Seemed genuinely sorry."

Danny nodded as he wrapped his free arm around my waist and pulled me into him. I flinched at the sudden movement, closing my eyes and holding my breath as our fronts were pushed together.

"Are you okay? Did I just hurt you, Jules?" Danny's voice was frantic.

I slowly let out my breath as I shook my head. "N-No... I'm just on that time... and the cramps are hitting quite hard right now," I whispered as I opened my eyes.
