A/N - Hey guys, I just wanna say thanks for all the reads last chapter! Thanks so much. I also wanted to say sorry for the weird editing I’ve been doing lately.
But I dedicate this chapter and the ideas to Liz (HiddenGodzella). She helped with a theme for Garyn and Lori. So thanks bae <3
"Lori, hey, wait up." I heard a voice behind me say. Les and I both turned our heads quickly to see who it was. Garyn. Yay.
"Hey." I replied nonchalantly, putting a fake smile on my face, but I saw his was quite genuine. He stared Lesley down as if to say can we speak in private with his eyes. She soon left as quickly as he caught up to me.
"So," he said.
"So."
"My friends and I are having a barbecue since it's the last couple days of school. You wouldn't happen to want to come with me, would you?"
I pretended to ponder the idea for a minute before I replied. "Hmm..." I tapped my finger on my chin. "I suppose...on one condition." I smirked problematically.
"And that would be..?" He motioned his hand for me to continue.
"You do what I want for a week." As innocently as I could possibly be, I smiled.
"Sure thing." He replied.
With that, I walked away, swaying my hips. Well, that was before my oxygen tube got tangled on my leg and I stumbled flawlessly. I partially ran into the wall next to me, laughing at myself for being the klutz I am. I turned around to see Garyn practically dying of laughter, bent over and holding his stomach.
"Meant to do that!" I called out to him while turning back around and walking out the door.

Sitting in Biology, Adem burned holes in the back of my head with his eyes. He'd been trying to get my attention for the past 5 minutes.
"Do you have a problem, sir?" I said to him, leaning back and barely turning my head.
He just scoffed and shook his head, smirking. What was his problem? After class was lunch, and I was starving. I watched each minute pass, the needle on the clock ticking a centimeter at a time.
I stood by my locker, waiting for Garyn, but he never showed up. So I walked to lunch alone. When I opened the cafeteria doors near the back, I looked around for him but couldn't spot his ruffled hair.
“Lori Anne Bennett.” I heard someone say in a weird-toned “heroic” voice. I turned around to see Garyn standing on a lunch table with his chest pumped out and his hands on his sides. It was literally the most adorable thing ever.
“Yes, Garyn Edward Kinley?” I answered back, raising an eyebrow at him. He hopped down onto the seat of the table and down onto the floor in one quick, swift motion. By this time we had the attention of the whole room. I legitimately thought he was going to ask me out.
“Hiya! Shall we sit?” he asked. Sit we shall I thought and started to the nearest table. Before I could get any farther than about a foot, Garyn had grabbed my tank bag and my hand, cradling both like a baby. Nope. Not asking me out.

“So, how has your day been, beautiful?” Garyn asked me, walking into my living room with two red cream sodas in his hands.
“Good, I guess. You know, minus the whole-”
“Yeah, I know.” he interrupted. He handed me a can of soda and sat on the couch beside me. And when I say beside me, I mean almost practically sitting on my lap. He looked over at me with innocent eyes and started to close in on me. When he kissed me, I just let my eyes close and cherish it. I was glad he’s here and not leaving.
He pulled away and looked me square in the eye. He looked distraught at first, but he reached into his back pocket and pulled out a rose. It seemed to be a little disheveled, but I could tell what it was.
“I want to apologize to you.” he said, handing me the flower.
“For?” i asked.
“You know what for.” he replied. “Well?”
I hesitated for a moment to contemplate whether or not I should do what I was thinking, and decided I would anyway.
“Hmm...I don’t know.” I tried my hardest not to smirk at him, but failed.
“Well I guess I will just have to leave then.” I could see in his eyes he was a little hurt, but knew I was just playing hard to get.
“No, don’t.”
Wow. Because I don’t seem desperate at all. Well shit.
Garyn just chuckled and picked up his bookbag.
“I’ll see you later, Bennett.” he said when he walked out the door.
“Yeah, sure thing, McKinley.” I said back. After he was gone I stayed on the couch for a good while and didn’t notice I had drifted off to sleep until Lesley was shaking me awake saying, “What did you guys do, huh? What’s ya’ll talk about? TELL ME, TELL ME, TELL ME.”
I swatted her away and sat up slowly.
“We just talked. Nothing big.” She looked absolutely unsatisfied.
“It’s always no big deal with you, o-m-g.” she said and flung herself onto the couch, looking like a bird who can’t fly.
“Really?” I protested, but laughed at the same time. She propped her feet on my lap and layed a pillow under her head on the other side of the couch.
“So tell me,” Prying. “what did you guys really talk about.”
“Just simple stuff, Les. Really.” I retaliated.
“Okay, okay. I got it.” At least she backed off.
After a moment’s hesitation, I had to answer her. “Earlier at school he asked me to go to a barbeque thing with him and his friends.”
“And?”
“I’m going.” I laughed. “Then before he left here he gave me a rose.”
“OH MY GOLLY WHAT.” she scared me a bit, but brushed it off.
“Yeah. Now can we-” I was inturrupted my a call on the house phone. My mom had it in her hands in a second, but then said, “Lori, it’s for you.” Les made her eyebrows dance on her face thinking it wasGaryn, i’m guessing.
“Ms. Lori. I am pleased to tell you that you made it in to the talent show. Congragulations. We have a rehearsal show tomorrow.” the voice said.
“Okay, thank you.” was all I could say, then I hung up. Les was squealing on the couch. I guess she heard the conversation. I was smiling like an idiot and ran over to the couch, my tank trailing behind. Man, this thing is a burden, I thought to myself.
There was a knock at the door and I panted over to it to open it. There stood a dirty, angry-looking Adem. His clothes were coated in mud and his lip was cut and bleeding in two places. I didn’t know what to say,but before I even could, he had grabbed my tank and my arm out the door.
“So, yeah I have news for you.” he said immediately.
“What is it, jackass?”
“Garyn was in a car wreck.” If this was a cartoon, my jaw would have hit the ground.
A/N - Okay so I know this is a short chapter but I literally had no idea what to write for this. But I finally thought of something.I was looking through notes and stuff and found an idea, hence the ending of this chapter.
