All Evie had to do was epically run across this building holding Theo’s hand, stop at the ledge just before falling over, look deep into his eyes, kiss him, and then jump with him off the roof.

Simple right?

She was about ready to have a heart attack.

Evie loved roller coasters and thrill rides and would do pretty much anything, but she wasn’t so sure jumping off a roof was a good idea. It was definitely a once in a life time experience and she was getting to do it with one of the hottest guys alive.

Once they were up on the roof her nerves really started to kick in.

“What am I doing?” she asked Theo ready to run back down to the safety of the first floor.

“You are here helping me make a movie. I will owe you big time!” He said trying to talk her closer to the ledge rather than off of it.

“I’m the one who owes you for letting me stay in your home. I guess this is the least I could do…”

“Don’t worry Evie. I promise I won’t let anything happen to you. We will be in a harness and there is a giant mattress pad waiting for us at the bottom. There is no way anything could go wrong.”

Now, normally when someone says those words something goes wrong, but in this case Theo was exactly right.

While she was busy trying to calm herself they were backed up until they were on the opposite side of the rooftop waiting for their cue to run.

She faintly heard someone telling Theo to grab her hand and when he did, it was as if his touch had chased her nerves away.

Evie didn’t have much time to enjoy the feeling of her hand in his much larger one before the director yelled action and they were off, running across the roof.

Trying to keep up with him took her attention away from the camera’s that were circling them, attempting to get shots from every angle.

She could hear the fake explosions in the background and footsteps of the men that were supposedly chasing them adding to the realism of it all.

After what seemed like seconds they reached the ledge, causing Evie to remembered one big thing that her fear over the jump had made her forget.

The kiss.

On cue, they both had to look over their shoulder at their pursuers, three men in black suits all with raised guns. As they turned back around Theo grabbed her around the waist and urgently pulled her against him, his hands leaving trails of fire wherever he touched.

Her body fit perfectly against his and she couldn’t stop her hands from roaming up his chest, her eyes never leaving his.

One minute they were staring at each other and the next thing she knew his lips were on hers giving her the best fake kiss of her life.

Instead of romantic fireworks she got giant explosions.

What more could a girl ask for?

Her body instantly started to heat up, not from the controlled blast behind her, but from Theo’s deep kiss, his firm hands on her waist, and his body pressed up against hers.

She wanted nothing more than to tangle her hands in his hair and kiss him for hours, but he pulled away and taking her hand, jumped of the ledge with her in tow.

Son of a bitch! Was the first thought that popped into her head before she realized that this was probably one of the coolest things she had ever done.

Once she was off the ledge, falling through the air was actually pretty fun and the fact that Theo was right beside her made it even better.

Theo didn’t let go of her hand until they hit the mattress and the crew members helped them off onto opposite sides.

Now that it was over Evie had no idea what she had been so nervous about.

Theo rushed over to her side and looked her over for any signs of distress, obviously ready to comfort her and was shocked to find her smiling.

“Can we do that again?” Evie asked, trying to catch her breath from the kiss and the fall. She didn’t specify however which one she wanted to do again… and again and again.

Her enthusiasm was rewarded by his rich laughter making her want to kiss him all over again.

“Rogan that was amazing!” the director interrupted them, slapping Theo on the back as he came to stand in between her and Theo. “You nailed the scene on your first try so we don’t have to waste any more money shooting it again. I knew there was a reason we hired you.”

Moving out of the directors slapping range he came to stand by Evie before answering, “Well I’m just glad you got the shot you needed. Is that all that you wanted from us today?”

“Is that all I want from you today?” the director laughed like Theo had just made the funniest joke.

After sobering up he continued, “You have a million screaming girls waiting for you about a block away just dying to catch a glimpse of you on your shoot today. Everyone agrees it would be good publicity for you to go and talk to them.”

Just like that the happiness Evie had felt washed away at the mention of Theo’s adoring fans.

He had fans.

Lots of them.

Because he was famous.

Every reason why she shouldn’t like or be with him came flooding back, not to mention the fact that it was a fake kiss. It probably didn’t even mean half has much to him as it did to her. There wasn’t room in his life for her and she didn’t want there to be.

Evie needed to go to college and she had no business having a movie star as her first official boyfriend. She had no idea how to be in a relationship especially with someone who had adoring fans.

“If it’s alright with Samantha. I know that we have had a long day-”

“No really it’s fine. I can just get someone to drive me home early so you can stay.”

She was hasty to get away and process all that had happened alone. She had definitely enjoyed that kiss much more than she should have. He could have pretty much any girl and the odds of him choosing her were slim.

“Alright…” he hesitantly agreed, sensing her sudden change in mood, “but let me get my driver for you and you have to go straight home.”

“Yes father.” she droned, rolling her eyes as they both walked off in the direction of the parking lot.

“I’m not your father Evie. I just want to make sure you are safe.”

“I took care of myself before you came along you know. You aren’t going to be in my life forever.” Her words left a horrible taste in her mouth, and she wished that it wasn’t true.

“Why are you being like this?” he asked, clearly confused. “You were so happy a minute ago. What’s wrong?”

Evie hated acting this way especially since she could tell he was genuinely concerned about her, but she had to put some distance between them again.

“Nothing, I’m just tired that’s all. Don’t worry about me. You have some screaming fans to attend to.”

Forcing a smile as they reached the car she hastily got in slamming the car door, ready to leave when the door suddenly opened again.

Theo’s presence seemed to take up the entire doorway as he leaned in close to whisper in her ear. “Just so you know that wasn’t the last time I plan on kissing you.”

Quickly pulling away he gave her a wink before closing the door again leaving her in shocked silence.

She had definitely not seen that coming.
