6 days until the invasion

Thomas sat alone in the courtyard. Xavier had every kid in training. The kids who actually took classes were allowed to abandon them for training.

Kis and El were working their asses off trying to find the mole who was feeding WICKED information. Whoever it was was really smart, they knew how to cover their tracks.

Thomas picked at his sandwich, he couldn't stomach food. He knew people were going to die, it was inevitable.

Thomas tried to convince Xavier to move everyone, but they'd be easier to track if they were gone. They did have the upperhand at the school, it was their turf. Hank had an unbelievable amount of weapons in the basement and the abilities was something WICKED would never have.

Thomas looked out over the lake, he saw Minho and Teresa sitting by it. Her hand was on his arm and he was smiling. Thomas wouldn't be surprised if they got together, Minho probably wouldn't be opposed to it either.

Thomas felt a pit drop in his stomach. Newt. Newt still wouldn't even look at him. Thomas didn't realize how awful it would be without having Newt. He was his boyfriend (were they still boyfrends?), but he was also his best friend. He wanted Newt near him during the invasion, he knew that he'd probably be invisible, but Thomas knew he'd be worried sick if he didn't know for sure that Newt was okay.

Thomas sighed as he threw a piece of bread into the grass. He just missed Newt. He missed spending time with him, he missed holding his hand and sleeping with his small body curled around him.

Thomas stood up, abandoning his sandwich and running his hands through his hair. He headed over to where Minho and Teresa were sitting against his better judgement.

"Got room for one more?" he asked them softly. He was almost scared that they'd say no.

Minho gave him a sympathetic look and pulled him down next to him. "We always got room for you Tommy-boy. Newt still got that stick up his ass?"

"He has a right to be mad at me," Thomas said quickly.

Minho smiled at Teresa as he ruffled Thomas' hair. "Look at him, defending him even when they fight. The kid's in love."

Thomas scowled and swatted his hands away. "Shut up Minho."

"Has X been killing you too?" Minho asked as he tossed a juice box to Thomas.

"Yeah, trained all night and he woke me up at five for 'morning bursts'."

    Minho laughed. "Sounds like X."

"Where are you going during the invasion?" Thomas asked Teresa before sipping his juice box.

Teresa shrugged. "I doubt Xavier will let me fight so I'll probably help out with first aid."
Thomas nodded.

"When's your group training session?" Minho asked as he kicked Thomas' leg lightly.

"I think in two days. You?"

"Mines in an hour." Minho made a face and stuck out his tongue. "It's a waste of time if you ask me."

"It builds teamwork," Thomas said in a poor imitation of the professor's voice.

Minho snorted out a laugh as he shoved a handful of crackers in his mouth. "You're so lucky you're not a mutant T."

Teresa rolled her eyes. "Don't talk with your mouth full."
