Just A Little Nap

Ares POV

I pace my palace her last words going through my head. She told me

to calm down...

and to let her sleep...

I feel a tear slide down my face. I wipe it away and start to polish my sword in instead.

Clarisse POV

Ever since I have been here (which I have no idea how long it has been) it has been the same. I have both legs chained to the wall of my cell. No weapon visible except the ones used on me. Occasionally they throw in some disgusting food but it is better than nothing. Then he comes in.

Kronos comes in. He punches me, kicks me, whips me, etc. Every time he says nothing but insults at demigods and the gods in general. One time he comes in and it is worse than usual.

First I scream in pain then all at once it is gone. I suddenly feel the floor beneath me, as I lie on my stomach. I see my blood but the sight doesn't bother me. I'm tired. I haven't slept properly and right now the floor is a soft as a cloud. So tired...

I can hear my father, Ares yelling in my head. If it is really him or not? I'm not sure.

What are you doing!? Fight! Fight it! You fought the drakon! You can fight it!

He continues to tell me to fight and I don't want to let him down... But for once I don't want to fight. I just want to sleep. I close my eyes but open them when the yelling starts again.

Fight it! Clarisse! Don't close you eyes! Don't you dare-

I don't get why you are so upset. I'm obviously not going anywhere soon. The fight can wait five minutes while I get some sleep.

To make my point I close my eyes.

No. It can't. Just open your eyes please. Ares' voice pleads.

Calm down. It's just a little nap.
