Chapter Five: Fight of Wills

        "Rin!" Jade yelled when Sesshomaru flew into a clearing.

"I thought the great demon slayer would show up if I took the girl. I wasn't expecting the Lord of the West." the demon said; frowning at the end.

"Release the girl and your life may be spared." Sesshomaru said; letting Jade off his back.

"I will trade the little one for the demon slayer." the demon countered.

"Deal." Jade said before Sesshomaru could reply.

"No deal. I do not make deals with demons as low leveled as you." Sesshomaru said; giving Jade a sideways glance.

"I will break the little girl's neck before you get a chance to kill me." the demon said; grabbing Rin around the neck.

"I said deal, dammit! Let the girl go!" Jade growled.

"Not until I have you." the demon said; narrowing his eyes at her.

"I'll come most of the way, then you let the girl go." Jade said.

"Fine." the demon agreed.

"No." Sesshomaru said; voice calm.

"Move, fluffy." Jade said.

Let me handle this. Jade added in her head.

        "Let her go." Jade said when she was most of the way there.

"Fine." he said; releasing Rin.

"Jade!" Rin said; running and hugging Jade around the hips.

"You're safe now. Go to Sesshomaru." Jade said; never taking her eyes off the demon.

"Now, come here." the dmeon ordered.

"I said I would swap with Rin, but I never said I wouldn't go without a fight. I am a demon slayer, correct?" Jade said with a fake smile; she really didn't want to kill it. She didn't have the instinct to kill.

"You're going to fight me?" the demon laughed, "Wait, I thought the demon slayer's name was Nayumi?" 

"Hi, I'm the rencarnation of Nayumi. My names Jade." Jade said; sarcastically waving at the demon.

"So the rumors were true? The Lord of The West broke the poor girls soul so bad that she was killed? I always thought she was hiding from Naraku." the demon laughed.

"I don't know how I died in my previous life, but I doubt it was Sesshomaru. I also doubt Nayumi would hide from anyone." Jade said; placing a hand on Katana.

"You really shouldn't be with him. History has a way of repeating itself." the demon laughed, and ran at her.

In one swift movement, Jade drew her sword and struck at the demon.

"You're a quick one. This should be fun. Since I'm going to kill you, you should know my name." the demon said; jumping back.

"I don't care what your name is." Jade spit; heart racing.

"I'm Konahamaru. As you can tell, I look human, but I'm a very dangerous kind of demon." he said.

"You don't look dangerous to me." Jade said; hands on her hips.

"I'm very dangerous!" the demon yelled.

"Don't talk. Fight." Jade said; running at him.

"You shouldn't rush to your death!" the demon yelled; running at her as well. He kind of looked like Sesshomaru. The only difference is that he had black hair, and he did not bare the crescent moon on his forehead. He did, however, have the lines on his cheeks and wrists.
