Chapter Twenty-Four: One Step Closer

(Jade POV)

        It has been a month since Nayumi and I were serparated, and I've leared just how weak I am without her. 

"Why are your hands wrapped up?" Inuyasha asked as I came back from my secret training with Hychi. 

"No reason." I lied. 

"I can smell the blood, do you really think that Sesshomaru won't be able to?" Inuyasha sighed. 

"I didn't know they were still bleeding." I mumbled. 

        This new body was being difficult. Building muscle wasn't happening, and getting faster was taking longer than I hoped. I was stuck staying at Lady Kaede's village while Sesshomaru went off looking for Nayumi, Enma, and Sakura. I told him what Nayumi told me, when we got back, but he wanted me to work on my bow skills before I went into a battle. I've been secretly training with on fighting with Hychi while Sesshomaru's gone, but that's resulted in my having to bandage my hands up daily. 

"Are you paying attention to me?" Inuyasha's gruff voice brough me from my thoughts. 

"Huh? Sorry." I smiled at him; rubbing the back of my neck nervously. 

"Just tell Sesshomaru you're training to fight. He'll be mad at first, but eventually he'll end up trianing you himself." Inuyasha sighed. 

"Thanks. I'll consider telling him." I replied. 

"Telling me what?" Sesshomaru's voice startled me. My usual reflexes have been kicking in lately, and I automatically spun around to kick him. 

"Don't scare me." I sighed; stopping myself, before I had a chance to fall on my butt. 

"Your reflexes are coming back. You still don't have any strength behind them, though. Tell Hychi to train you harder." Sesshomaru said, then walked away. 

"He knew?" I mumbled out loud. 

"Everyone knew. They weren't really secret." Inuyasha scuffed. 

"Kagome! Inuyasha is being mean to me!" I yelled. 

"What! No! I'm-" 

"Sit boy!" Kagome's command made Inuyasha land on his face. 

"You're both so cruel." he mumbled through dirt. 

"Hmph." I snorted, then headed to the lake. 

        "I smell horrible." I mumbled as I got into just my undergarments. 

"You smell fine to me." 

"AHHH!!!" I my blood curtling scream filled the air as I shot into the water. The pitch of my scream caused whoever to fall from the tree. Sesshomaru appeared beside them, and instantly had them pinned against the tree they fell from. 

"Who are you?" he demanded; his voice calm.

"I'm not an enemy." the guy gasped. 

I can't tell if he's a demon of not. I thought as I tried to see him past Sesshomaru. 

"Says the pervert watching me undress!" I exclaimed. 

"Who are you?" Sesshomaru asked again; pushing harder against their neck. 

"Akio." he gasped out. 

"What are you doing here?" was Sesshomaru's next question. 

"Observing." he smiled. 

"Can I kill him?" I asked; dressed now. 

"Possible." Sesshomaru replied. 

"Wow! Wow! Wait! I'm not here to cause trouble!" he exclaimed.
