Chapter Seven: Enter Hychi the Fox Demon

        It's been two months since Jade came through the well, and she was starting to wonder if she would ever be able to return to her normal life. School was going to be starting soon, and there has been no sign of Sakura anywhere.

"Jade! Lord Sesshomaru!" Rin yelled cheerfully as they returned to the village.

"Hey Rin." Jade said with a warm smile; accepting the little girl's hug.

"Rin." Sesshomaru said and held out a new kimono; Jade had learned this was his way of showing he was happy to see her. 

"Thank you, Lord Sesshomaru!" Rin giggled; taking the red and yellow kimono. 

"Don't tell me you have her fighting still?" Inuyasha said; looking at Jade's armor.

"What she does is none of your concern, half-breed." Sesshomaru said; voice even colder than usual.

"Be nice." Jade warned; grabbing his ear. This last trip had just been her and Sesshomaru, and she learned that she could treat him however she wanted and he wouldn't say anything.

"Let go of my lord's ear!" Jaken exclaimed from behind Inuyasha.

"Shut up, toad." Jade laughed.

"At least she's nicer to you than Nayumi." Rin said; laughing as well.

"Jade!" Shippo yelled; she looked up to see a big pink blob floating towards her.

"Hey Shippo." Jade said; catching him as he transformed in the air.

"I'm glad you're back." he said; hugging her around the neck.

"How was your training?" Jade asked.

"It was good." he said, "Hey Sesshomaru."

"Shippo." Sesshomaru replied.

"Jade, can I talk with you?" Inuyasha asked.

"Uh, I guess?" Jade shrugged.

        "How are you?" Inuyasha asked as they walked.

"Fine?" Jade replied.

"That's good." Inuyasha nodded.

"Okay, what?" Jade said; stopping and putting her hands on her hips.

"You don't have to fight, ya know?" Inuyasha finally said.

"I do have to fight. What I don't have to do is kill. Sesshomaru takes care of that." Jade said.

"You could just live a normal life. Here in the village." Inuyasha said; finally looking at her.

"You're wrong. I can't. This isn't my life. This is Nayumi's." Jade replied.

"Nayumi died." Inuyasha said.

"This still isn't my life. I don't belong here." Jade shrugged.

"You belong more than you think." Inuyasha mumbled.

"Let's go back to the village. I'm tired." Jade said and started back to the village.

        "Hey Sesshomaru." Inuyasha yelled when they returned to the village.

"What." Sesshomaru growled. Inuyasha responded by punching Sesshomaru in the face.

"Inuyasha!" Jade yelled in shock.

"Worthless half-breed!" Sesshomaru yelled, and they started fighting.

"Stop it!" Kagome yelled; running out of their hut.

"You idiots!" Jade yelled; running towards them.

"Jade!" Kagome yelled and went to grab her arm when Kaede stopped her.
