I felt a hard pressing on my chest followed by someone pushing air down my lungs. It made me finally start coughing up all the water that was trapped inside me.
When I looked up I thought I was delirious, that I was imagining things, but he spoke and I knew this was real.
"Are you okay Lexa?" Sander asked me.
He was wet and water fell from his black hair that now hung on his forehead.
"Lexa?" He asked deeply concerned.
It shocked me to the core because I had never heard him this concerned.
I coughed again then said with a groggy voice. "I'm okay." I slowly sat up ignoring the aching pain my body was giving me. It was like my body was screaming "NO PLEASE STOP!"
"Where...where did you come from?"
"I take morning walks on the beach usually everyday." He told me.
"Th-thank you. I don't know what I would have done or what would have happened to me if you weren't here."
"It's all good. You're safe now and that's what matters."
I nodded my head.
"Do you want me to take you home?" He asked.
My body screamed out in protest. "Maybe in a couple minutes."
I closed my eyes but was greeted with flashbacks of what just happened. I shivered and Sander put his hand on my arm.
"It's okay, you're safe Lexa."
I nodded my head again. My body was on fire and I had a good feeling it hated me at the moment. Sander apparently saw my pain because he offered. "Why don't I carry you to the car."
I smiled. "That would be lovely thank you."
He picked me up gently and walked me back to Luca's car. He sat me in the passenger seat then said. "I need to go back at get your board."
I nodded my head in understanding.
When he returned he put the board in the car and got into the front seat. At my house Sander came around and lifted me out of my seat and to the front door. I didn't have my key so we had to knock. Mom answered and when she saw me she went into full Mom mood. She led Sander up to my room as he explained what happened. Mom was on the verge of tears as Sander set me down on my bed.
"Thank you Sander. Thank you for saving my baby girl." She told him through sniffles.
"I'm honestly just happy she's safe." He told her with a smile which made her loose her shit and hug him. After that she turned to me asked if I wanted some tea but before I could answer she was already on her way to make some for me causing Sander to laugh.
"Your mom's a nice woman." He told me.
"Yeah she is."
He shifted his weight from one leg to the other. "Well I should let you rest."
He was about to leave when I called his name. "Sander." I motioned for him to come close to me and he did as told. "Thank you so much Sander, really thank you."
"No thank you."
I opened my eyes really wide. "For what?"
"For the kiss you said I'd only get in my dreams." He winked then got up and went to my door.
I thought for a second and then it clicked, CPR. I groaned. "Ugh you asshole."
He chuckled. "I'll be back to check on you."
