Dante Marcellus Valenti looked at his watch and smiled in satisfaction. It was 16.00 in the afternoon and he was already in Manhattan. Thanks to his billion dollar private jet, and of course, all the other things that came with being filthy rich, he was outside the Sky lounge building where Ms. Kane's offices were located. And it was just Friday! He'd be done in a jiffy and back to Italy in no time for his other engagements. He paused as he looked outside his limousine's window, he was pretty sure he'd made an arrangement with someone, he just didn't remember who.
"Your excellency, we're here. I just have to drive down into the underground parking lot." the driver said over the intercom.
"Good, have Phillipe and Tomas stay behind for this one. I don't want them following me into the building." he instructed as he took out his phone to send his PA a text. It was mandatory to have bodyguards but, it got to him sometimes, those times when he wanted to blend in and not be 'your excellency'. It was his grandfather who had liked that title, not him. Of course he was a long shot away from having his employees and associates stop using it.
"But your excellency-" Luigi began only to be silenced by a simple raise of an imperious hand, "Yes, your excellency. Of course, your excellency. " the man finished with a little bow and stopped the car. Three other cars stopped right behind the limo and all doors opened. Dante ignored them though, Luigi would take care of it.
The driver got out, opened the door for his boss and Dante got out, walking towards an entry door that had a few stairs. He didn't look back to see his security team panicking and bombarding his driver with questions. He had a very important matter to take care of in the name of Scarlett Kane. No, his inheritance - that's what he'd meant. His inheritance. Damn it.
Over at Scarlett's office, phones were ringing non stop ever since she'd accepted to take on Daniel Hemsworth's case. And being the boss, all the limelight was on her. There was no way of foisting it on anyone else. At least they'd made head way and she was positive they'd deal with the model before it got worse. She didn't want it to get to court, solely because she had more important things to do. Namely, Dante Marcellus Valenti - no, her grandma's house. That's what she'd meant. Damn it. Ever since she'd looked him up on Google, Scarlett hadn't spent a minute without thinking about him. How could such an arrogant bastard be so, so, larger than life! It just didn't make sense - why did some people have it all! She hoped he didn't have more information about the matter at hand than she did though because that would be a problem.
Ring ring!
Scarlett clutched the desk phone, "What's up, Jenny?" she asked with half attention because she at the moment was looking at a picture of the Valenti Bank headquarters in Rome, wondering how much money the Valentis had without wanting to grab her grandma's -
"Um, Um, I... His excellency is here." a barely there voice said and Scarlett wondered if Jenny was under attack and was trying to be subtle, " His excellency?" she asked in answer wondering who that could be and thinking, no, she couldn't take on any more cases at the moment.
"Duke Dante Marcellus Valenti the -" she begun only for Scarlett to stop her with a squeal of her own - damn it she never squealed. This was bad. She wasn't ready! "Let him up, Jenny!" she said as she took out the file she'd so far compiled on the Valentis. She'd have to wing this - she was good at winging. Who was she kidding? This was -
"Ms. Kane... finally." that deep rich sexy cultured voice announced from the doorway and Scarlett looked up. And stopped breathing. Mr. Valenti in flesh was...
She wasn't going to be a loser because of that though and drool all over the guy.
Scarlett stood up from her chair and moved towards Dante Marcellus Valenti with an outstretched hand. "Mr. Valenti, wow. Talk about representing your needs - you've got here in no time." she said with an impressed smile, all the while doing her best not to hyperventilate - the guy was an explosive waiting to go off. First off, he was the tallest man she'd ever met, and as for looks, he was gorgeous and that was undebatable.
