"Tell me everything," Naomi demanded, inserting a break between each word.
"We went roller-skating, had a coffee, had dinner and then... He walked me home," Allegra told her, shrugging as casually as she could with an earl grey tea in her hand.
"And?" her sister asked.
"And what?"
"Did anything else happen?"
Allegra hesitated. "No."
"Are you lying?" Naomi asked suspiciously, narrowing her eyes as she slurped her ice tea through a chewed straw.
Allegra hesitated again. "No."
"You are lying," Naomi smirked, pointing her straw at her red-faced sister.
"No, –"
"He kissed you, didn't he?" she whispered loudly, leaning over the table a little too much for her low-cut tank top. Allegra hesitated for a third time and bit her lip.
"Maybe."
"Oh my God."
"You really need to stop saying that," Allegra advised, shuffling uncomfortably in her seat as people around her looked at them.
"Oh my God," Naomi repeated, sitting down again. "Oh my God –"
"Naomi –"
"Where? What happened after? When are you seeing each other again?" she spat her words quickly, sweat forming lightly on her forehead.
"One question at a time, jeez!" Allegra laughed nervously. "It was on a bridge, we had dinner after and... We have no plans to see each other again yet."
"Oh my God, which bridge? Where did you have – wait, what? No plans? Why? Is everything ok? Have you argued?"
"What? No arguments, no. He's a busy man. He's shooting for a new film," Allegra shrugged confidently, taking a sip of her hot tea.
"Shooting what?" Naomi said, slurping.
"The film," Allegra replied, confused. Naomi stopped slurping the last of her drink and narrowed her eyes with concern.
"Why?" she asked.
"Why what?"
"Why is he shooting a film that he's going to be in?"
"What?" Allegra asked, full confusion hitting her. "No, shooting as in filming, not gun shooting." Her sister was pretty but damn was she dumb sometimes.
"Oh..." Naomi said, disappointedly. "Has he got a firearm licence?" she asked, the curiosity back in her voice as she slurped melted ice from the bottom of her cup.
"What? I don't know –"
"You want to check that," Naomi advised, pointing her empty cup at Allegra again.
"Why?" her sister had fully lost her.
"Men with guns are hot," Naomi shrugged, confirming that she really did live inside her own little bubble.
"Naomi... How were you married?" Allegra laughed.
"Have you seen my ass?" she winked.
"Fair enough."
"What's the chemistry like?"
"It's amazing."
