Chapter 14 - Party

Serena's POV

I wouldn't say that I was disturbed by Ash's revelation, but it did cause my heart to tighten. I'm not sure if I expected Ash to deny Calem from coming, but I didn't think he would openly invite Calem. "I thought this would be a good first step for you Serena. You've got to start somewhere" "Ash, can we go back? I forgot to bring some gasoline and a matchstick with me" "Very funny, anyways.. I know my house isn't big.. it's quite the opposite.. but I hope you enjoy it, Bonnie and Astrid had put a lot of effort if you remember". I had remembered the 'fun' experience at the mall. I hadn't expected Ash to take me, but I don't regret going. Scratch that, I do, because I lost a bet.. and that bet 'forced' me to kiss pretty boy. Anyhow, I remember Astrid's face when we found a baby blue colored lamp. I had picked up Ash's change in attention. He was sweet talking with me the whole time, but once Astrid found that lamp.. he turned into a dad. Dad.. joke wise.. the joke was "Look at that Lamp! I'm delighted!". I won't say that I had wanted to murder Ash, but I had felt like I wanted to murder Ash. Even though thoughts of killings Ash flowed through my mind, I payed attention to how much attention he was giving Astrid. They had a full blown conversation about what color would look better. Ash had wanted a green lamp, but Astrid wanted the blue lamp. The conversation was not a heated one. Astrid seemed to be winning and Ash just had a smile on his face that whole time. "I remember your joke Ash. It was disgusting" "Forget that, lets get inside before everyone shows up".

He opened up the garage door and drove the car inside. He motioned me to get out as he turned the car off. I noticed that the door had a giraffe poster plastered on it. As we got closer to the door I saw googly eyes replacing the original eyes. "You like that giraffe Ash?" "I love it, my sister, Leaf, absolutely loved it as well. Actually the my brother had put those googly eyes on it the day we bought it". I looked at Ash and noticed the slow sigh he gave as he opened the door. As he opened it I heard him mutter "If only giraffes had nine lives".

The door led straight into the kitchen. Or should I say the open concept. For the size of the house on the outside, the open concept seemed to give off a 'McMansion' feel.. instead of a small house. "Wow, looks better on the inside!" "Nice, first bit of positivity from you". I stared at Ash as he opened up a bottle of water. "You want some Serena?" "Sure". He opened the bottle and took a swig out of it before handing it to me. I frowned as I hesitated to grab it from his hands. I was about to drink from it, when Ash erupted in laughter. "I can't believe you're actually drinking it. Do you really want to get cooties?". I swung my open hand at his face, missing him by just an inch "Shut up, and cooties are what kids believe in" "Oh stop being so defensive.. learn to joke around a bit" "With you.. I'm not sure if my life is about to end with every joke you bring up" "Delightful". He grabbed my another bottle and chucked it at me. I somehow caught it with the open hand and threw the opened bottle towards him. His eyes widened as he quickly snatched the opened bottle out of the air. "You really want to ruin my party huh?" "I'm just returning a favor".

He showed me to the living room, which had multiple couches and a large plasma tv hooked up to the wall. I sat down and checked my phone, 4:13. "We're very early Serena, people won't show up till 5:00" "I've got to deal with you for another 45 minutes UGH" "Don't sweat it, at least you're near me" "That's what makes it worse" "Sure, well I'm gonna turn on the tv if you don't mind" "Don't mind me". As he turned the tv on my attention drifted towards my phone. I noticed a message from one my closest friends, Bianca. She went to the same High as Calem and I, North Nimbasa High School. She was a nice girl who I had met up with when I first started dating Calem. Supposedly she had been childhood friends with Calem and was really happy once Calem got a girlfriend. I was suspicious at first, because I thought that Bianca would've wanted to date Calem. I was proven wrong when Bianca told me that she had a boyfriend somewhere here in Unova.
