Chapter 4 - Cheating..?

Serena's being cheated on? That serves her right, that's what you get when you act like an asshole. Luckily, the class was quite loud so no need to worry about gossip starting. My eyes blink slowly as I process the information, what does this have to do with me? "And?" "Well, I saw you and her in the clinic and hers smiles were more genuine than I've ever seen before". More genuine? Maybe so, but she has a boyfriend and as I said previously, I'm Not Looking To Date! "So Calem's cheating on her and she's smiling with me, are you trying to mix ice cubes with the planet Mercury?" "No, I don't think that she should date for a while, but with what Paul has told me, and how real you can be, I think she should lean on you for help". Help? What on Earth.. help, I'm not sure, I had told Serena that she could talk to me? "And how do you want me to help her?". A villainous smile spreads on Dawns face. Oh god, what is she planning? "Serena doesn't know that Calem is cheating and I want you to catch him red handed" "You want Me to try to expose my biggest bully? Are you nuts!".

Dawn then gave me a thorough explanation. Since Serena doesn't know, I could be the one to spoil it to her and then help her in some way. Paul suggested that I find the time to show her the evidence of Calem cheating. Dawn pipes in that she has a master plan. She wants Me to then tell Serena to get into a 'fake relationship' with me so that she and I can piss Calem off. I'm trying to figure this all out, my bullies cheating, I have a shipper in front of me, and I need to fake a relationship with Serena. "Why? If Calem gets pissed off, then are you thinking that he'll break up with the person he used to cheat with?" "Yes, that is exactly what I think" "And then you want me to call my relationship off with Serena so that Calem can save her when her spirits are the lowest?" "Yes" "And tell me, what makes Calem so great?". I'm not sure if Dawn gives me a condescending smirk or if she's smiling at some memory of the couple. "They have dated since freshman year, he was her everything, she was popular before, but with him she became an icon here in school" "And how is that supposed to be a likeable factor for Calem?" "I just feel that Calem has shaped Serena to who she is today" "She's been shaped into a monstrous villain". Paul then intervenes "Dawn, I know you like the fairytale stories of girl meets boy and they live happily ever after, but that is not the case. Calem never shows his controlling, aggressive or perverted nature with you. He shows Ash two thirds of it". He flashes me a smile and a wink. "I know Ash's past isn't great, it's really depressing, but he would be such a great boyfriend for her instead of Calem". I don't believe it, Paul is betraying me. "Haha, Paul that's funny. You know I won't be getting into another relationship ever" "Sorry, didn't mean to joke around with you, but I'm just trying to compare you and Calem". Good, when I said betraying I meant at the moment, not forever. "Then what should Ash do, Paul?" "I say that he changes his popularity, and gets into the popular group first, while spending time with Serena. Then he exposes Calem to Serena, they then fake a relationship and then we see where it goes from there" "I don't want to date her, but I don't want to break her heart Paul". They both look at me, one surprised on not. "What do you mean Ash?". Oh Dawn, you're lucky that you won't have your heartbroken, maybe then you would understand. "What I'm trying to say is that, Serena may develop feelings for me, maybe she won't, but if she does, I'm afraid that I won't keep the relationship intact" "Why not?"

And with that the rest of the day went as normal as it possibly could have gone. Not getting to eat lunch because Calem had a fit, and he wanted to make me feel pain. Make me feel pain, I'm kinda immune to it, but I guess he's to oblivious to notice. I did however lock eyes with Serena multiple times during lunch, if I were to put into words, she was sighing with her eyes. Ignoring that, my free period ended up being an enlightening period, as Calem screamed at me, and how I was the dirt on the earth. And whatever bullies would say to you. I get into science, but Serena is on the opposite side of the class, so I won't be talking to her until Lit class. Walking out of the door, I hear a whimper or maybe it was a sad gasp? Turning around, I see the blonde chick leaning on the wall, staring at the floor. Her blue eyes then lock onto me, wow, I must admit that they are just plain ol' pretty. Walking side by side to Lit class, she starts to talk "Did Dawn show you a piece of paper?" "What piece of paper" "Ugh, she was supposed to tell you, oh by the way I entered the room while you were advancing on Shauna. I must say that it was impressive, I didn't think that a person who has been bullied for three years could ever possibly flirt successfully with a popular girl" "I have my secrets too Serena". While we were through the packed hallway, I received multiple glares and heard many conversations that pertained to that fact that I was talking and walking with Serena 'Queen Popular'. "So what was on the piece of paper?" "I wanted to talk with you during Lit, and that we should talk afterschool too" "Hold up, why is it that you're acting all nice to me, yesterday you were glaring at me and today you're speaking with me?" "I-I uh.. have". I hold a hand in front of her. "You don't have to tell me your reasons, Serena. Just talk with me during Lit and then we can figure out a place after school". Her eyes sparkled just a tad as we kept making our way towards the Literature room. "Oh, did Dawn ever tell you about what she, Paul and I talked about during Art class?" "No, she never did". Hmm, how much of it should I tell her about? I won't talk about the cheating, that's for sure. "She told me, and I guess I'll do it, that I should start trying to get popular". When I look over, I see her trying to hold back a laugh. "You'll see Serena, people already notice that we're talking to each other, plus all those girls in Art class saw my little demonstration". Her eyes get a bit serious "How long will it take you? How long until you start hanging out with my group of friends, we are considered the most popular group in this large school". How long? Not too long, I think I can bring back some junior high methods. "It'll take a month, sometime in October, you'll see me hanging out with the 'popular kids'" "Good luck Ash, I'd like to see that" "Huh? Why?" "I want to talk with you more". I'm stunned, I can't believe the turn around. Has she figured out that Calem is cheating? Is she actually working with Calem to bring hurt me even more? "Okay then Princess No Sense, we'll be talking a lot more this month".
