You drank your alcohol as you stumbled across the dance floor. Your solution to forgetting pain is to pour all your emotions into booze.

Being gullible was one of your weaknesses so it was only a matter of time for you to be mesmerized by a guys' sweet talk. In the end, he was only using you because of your wealth.

You shook your head, trying to get rid of those useless memories of that jerk. You knew very well that your 'fated love' would inevitably end. But that didn't stop you.

You were trying to get another sip of your drink until you noticed there was nothing but ice in it. Struggling to walk, you finally reached the bar and asked for a refill.

"I need another drink over here, pronto." You demanded, pointing to the bartender. "Why mister bartender, tell me. Why do I have to be overprivileged and end up like this. Why do those rascals always come for my money?" You complained.

It wasn't until a man showed up to stop you.

"Yeah I think that's enough of drowning your sorrows 101 with y/n. Let's get you home." He said pulling your arm. It was your one and only best friend, Jungkook.

You scrunched your eyebrows as he helped you walk to the exit. "Hey you- " you only managed to say before you stopped and felt like throwing up.

-

"How could you even think about getting drunk just because of that shameless guy? I don't know what happened but don't let it paralyze you y/n. If only I could smack some sense into him." Jungkook scowled as he handed you a cold water bottle.

"No water, I want alcohol. Give me my drink!!! Where's my bartender?" You pushed his hand away.

Jungkook shook his head in disappointment. "Y/n ! Sober up come one, oh my god." He complained.

"YOU! Why can't I understand you? You know literally everything about me! Meanwhile I don't have a clue about your family or who you are. How are we even bestfriends?" You whined; your mind still in a drunk state.

He sighed, not knowing how to respond. "Sorry" he whispered under his breath intentionally so you wouldn't hear.

Jungkook knew very well what you meant. Though you two were best friends, he purposely avoided every question you asked related to his family. You later gave up because you didn't want your friendship to dissipate due to your curiosity.

It was obvious that he felt uncomfortable too every time you brought it up and it makes you more curious but some things aren't meant to be shared right?

-

You were finally sober because of him but you couldn't forget about what happened to you. "Sorry.." You choked.

"You know what? whatever. As long as you're fine, but you could at least called me! Also where's that jerk? I'll go threaten him to compensate you for all the things you've done for him! You know I have a knack for being scary." He scoffed.

You laughed at his words. It was cute how he tries to make you feel better but you also felt bad because it was always him. For every break up, Jungkook was always the one running to help you. It's like you didn't deserve his loyalty.

"But how come you knew where I was?" You asked.

"I got a text from your traitorous ex-boyfriend." He answered.

"What? What did that hooligan say?!" You snapped.

"Woah woah chill. Let's make a compromise to NOT talk about him anymore because I'm completely done with that mother trucker. Anyways let's hurry and get yourself back home because your parents must be concerned about your whereabouts right now." Jungkook pulled you up from the pavement.

"Oh, as if. They probably won't even noticed if I was gone and sleeping on the streets." You rolled your eyes.

-

"Hey. You know I'm always here for you." Jungkook said scratching his head. A smile appeared from your face.

Jungkook has liked you for a long time and you knew because he confessed but you decided to maintain the friendship relationship. You also felt like you didn't deserve him as a person. Jungkook was too good to be true and you didn't want to hurt him and then also damage your friendship. Your decision, you thought was the best for the two of you.

It was hard for Jungkook to be friends with someone he likes but you tried your best to sound nonchalant about the matter. It's been a while since he confessed to you so hopefully he doesn't feel awkward or nervous about the situation.

"Thanks kooks." You said gratefully as you smiled and tip toed to pat his head.

You finally reached your house and waved Jungkook goodbye.

Well, you thought. Tomorrow's going to be a long day.

-

The next morning, you walked out of your room to the bathroom and overheard your parents' conversation.

"So that means y/n has to marry his son right? That would be a win-win situation because it'll help their and our business. But how are we going to tell her? You know how stubborn she can be." You could hear the worries in your moms' voice.

"She's not a little kid anymore and this isn't some elementary school game. It's not a choice if it has to do with our company. This is work. She'll have to grow to understand it."
