Christmas Day- Thursday, 25th December 1969

Lucy Pov- I wake up and smell turkey. I sit up and look over at Brian. He is gone. I get my dressing gown and slippers on and go downstairs. I see that Brian is wearing a white shirt and black trousers.

"Merry Christmas baby" I say from the doorway. Brian turns round, carrot and peeler in hand and opens his arms. I go over and hug him.

"Merry Christmas, Love" Brian whispered into my ear.

"Right, I'm gonna have a shower, then I'm gonna help you with the food. What else needs done?" I ask, smiling up slightly at Brian.

"Er, actually, nothing else needs done, I'm about to put the carrots in with the turkey, because it's on slow cook, so you have a nice, long shower and I'll make some more room in the living room for all our visitors today. I can also put the chocolates on the tree for Em and Ry that you bought last week. " Brian replies, kissing the top of my head.

"You're going to be so tired by tonight, aren't you love?" I giggle, walking out of the Kitchen. I casually walk into Myself and Brian's room, collect my towel, and black & white spotty dress. I walk into the bathroom and take my shirt off. I look in the mirror at my stomach. I'm nearly two months pregnant, so there's a tiny little bit of bump, but not an obvious one. I get into the shower and start to sing 'Little Saint Nick' by the Beach boys.

Once I'm out of the shower and dressed, I go back into my bedroom and dry my hair. Once my hair's dry, I sit down at my dressing table and start to apply my makeup.

"Ya know? You don't need make up. You're pretty enough without it." A voice came from the doorway.

"Oh! Brian! You scared me!" I giggled.

"Oh, and by the way, you're a very good singer." Brian added. I blush furiously. Brian flashes me a grin and leaves the room. I get up and go over to the bed and make it.

It's 7:47 am- time for breakfast. I walk downstairs and go into the kitchen. Brian and Ruth are both sitting at the table, eating breakfast.

"Oh! Merry Christmas dear! You look very pretty.!" Ruth smiled. I blush again.

"Thank you Ruth. Merry Christmas too!" I smile.

"Who did you say was coming today, Love?" Brian asked, putting his empty cereal bowl in the sink. I sit down at an empty seat.

"Well, There's Mum, Emily, Ryan, Freddie, Roger and John.. But John will probably be coming slightly later in the afternoon, because he's 18 and still lives with his parents and I'm pretty sure he has a 13 year old sister and will be celebrating with the family for the most part of the day. I told Rog and Fred that they could come at any point after 11am, because they both said that they were going to see their families at new years, instead of today. " I explain. Brian nods.

"Hey, this is going to be our last Christmas without kids." Brian remarks.

"Yeah, I'm really looking forward to having kids jumping on me every Christmas or birthday to wake us up" I sarcastically say, chuckling to myself.

"But you are looking forward to being a parent though?" Brian worriedly asked.

"Oh Brian Of course I am! It'll be really fun. Plus, everyone knows, young parents are the best" I giggle, pouring myself some cornflakes.

*12:05 pm * I hear a knock at the door, so I get up, pulling Brian up at the same time. I go to the door and open it. A very cold looking Freddie and Roger were standing there.

"Hi guys!" I exclaim, ushering the two inside, hugging them both.

"Merry Christmas Dears!" Freddie exclaimed, handing me a shiny gift wrap bag. "That's your's and Brian's presents." He then said. I smile at Freddie, thanking him.
