12th July 1970-
Lucy's Pov- I awake to Brian grinning in my face.
"Jeezus! Brian, what are you doing?"
"Oh, sorry, I'm just so excited for this performance later!" I laugh and kiss his forehead. I attempt to roll out of bed, as there's now a lump on my stomach that has been growing for 8 months and it's getting pretty uncomfortable. Brian has been so great! He got Freddie to decorate the baby's room as a cute forest setting. But Brian's gone and built the cot and assembled the pram. Brian's dad has actually constructed a beautiful mobile for above the baby's cot and it has little butterflies and music notes attached to little yellow ribbons. It's very cute! I can't wait for little baby-girl-May in my stomach to arrive. Brian is so excited. He's absolutely ecstatic to become a dad. My mum is excited for me, but I get the feeling that she doesn't want to called 'Granny'. I don't think my dad even wants to know. I don't want him to know either, after the way he treated Brian. However, Brian's mum and dad are so excited to be grandparents. Anywhoo.. Once I'm out of the shower and downstairs, I start to make breakfast for Brian and myself. He needs a good meal so that he can perform well today. I know for a fact that he's going to be absolutely amazing. I think Fred, John and Roger are pretty confident. John is finding it a little difficult to 'fit in' to the band. I gave the other 3 a stern lecture about being nice and welcoming and the boys just nodded enthusiastically, as being lectured by an angry, pregnant Scotswoman is probably not something they want to happen again. I think they're trying.. Hmm. I start stirring some beans and poaching some eggs along with putting on some toast and getting out some tomatoes. I'm so multitalented.. ha. The door opens and Brian comes sauntering in.
"Ooh, I smell food" he smiles, peering at what's cooking. The only thing that annoys me about Brian is that he loves food and eats a lot, but he's a literal stick. I don't think he's put on an ounce since he was about 16. He's very slim and I'm a huge bulging whale. It's very unfair. I turn off the cooker and get the eggs out of the water, and pour the excess out, down the sink. I put them onto 2 plates, dish out the beans, place the tomatoes next to the beans, butter the toast and shove them onto the plates. I then take them over to the table and put them down.
After breakfast I sit down and continue reading Romeo and Juliet. I'm about 3/4 of the way through. Suddenly, I feel a weird pain across my lower stomach. I clutch my stomach and the pain fades in about 30 seconds.
"Brian!" I shout worriedly as he comes dashing into the room.
"My god! Are you okay?" He asks with a deep sense of concern in his voice. I nod.
"Yeah, I just felt an odd pain in my abdomen, but I'm fine now. It seems to have disappeared." I reply.
"Are you sure?" He asks. I nod. I get the feeling that I might drop in a few weeks, so I go and make sure the hospital bag is ready. I lug it downstairs and drop it at the front door.
"Oh my god, is it time?!" Brian asks, rushing to my side. I laugh lightly.
"No, but I think it might drop any time now, so I think we should be prepared just in case." I explain.
"Oh okay, you had me worried there for a second. That makes sense. I'll go and take it to the car. I'll be back in a mo." He says, taking the keys and the bag. He returns and gives me a large, warm cuddle. He kisses me on the head and walks into the living room. I follow him and I sit down next to him.
"Umm, so I wrote you a song" he says, picking up his acoustic guitar, plucking some random strings.
"No way, really?" I exclaim, grinning. He smiles gently and nods. He starts playing a beautiful melodic song. He then starts singing.
"I can dim the lights and sing you songs full of sad things. We can do the tango just for two. I can serenade and gently play on your heart strings, Be your Valentino just for you. Ooh love ooh loverboy
What're you doin' tonight, hey boy. Set my alarm, turn on my charm, That's because I'm a good old-fashioned lover boy!" He continues singing, until he finishes on a 'C' chord. I have a tear running down my cheek.
"Brian, I- I love it! It's amazing! Just,.. wow!"
"You like it?" He asks, putting the guitar down.
"Yes, and I think little Baby here liked it too, because she was kicking all the way through it. Myself and Brian spend the day relaxing, me listening to him practicing. Throughout the day, I get 3 more of those pains, each time lasting longer....
