Chapter Seven: I don't know

"What's that Kathleen?" Asked Ethan.

"I like you" I said to him, Ethan at that moment just looked at me.
"Oh Jeez, I messed up didn't I?" I asked myself covering my face with my hand "I'm such an idiot".

I feel the touch of Ethan hands holding on to my wrist, putting it away.
"I already knew that Kath" replied Ethan.

"What? You already knew? How?! It was Tracy wasn't it" I said to him as I disappointly look at the ground.

"Yes, and a no. It was pretty obvious when we reached Grade 7, cause' everytime I would hold your hand, you would just go pale" replied Ethan.

"And you didn't tell me?!" I argued as I look at him.

"I didn't want to assume Len" said Ethan trying to put away his laughter "So, how do you feel?" Asked Ethan.

"Embarass, angry, sad, scared, and wanting to choke you" I replied as I glared at him.

"I can see that" replied Ethan. "So what now?" Asked Ethan.

"Hm?" I asked.

"What about us?" Asked Ethan.

"Us?" I asked him.

"Yah, do we maintain what we have? Or does something change" Asked Ethan as he looks at me, asking for an answer.

"We stay the same I suppose? You have Aunica, your girlfriend---"

"And you my bestfriend?" Said Ethan as he cuts me off.

"Yah, life will go on" I replied to him realizing that he hasn't let go of my hands yet.

"What will we tell the crew?" Asked Ethan.

"The truth" I responded.

"So I'll see you tomorrow?" Asked Ethan.

"Yah, I'll see you tomorrow" I said to him smiling "Ethan".

"Yah?"  He said.

"My hand" I told him.

"Oh! Yah, sorry" replied Ethan scratching his head.

"It's ok" I replied, as I start to walk away.

"BYE!" screamed Ethan.

"BYE!" I screamed back to him, laughing.
After telling Ethan what I felt, it feels really good. I got that burden out of my heart already and it was amazing, Ethan Williams may not like me back anymore but I'm glad that we remain the same. Bestfriends, it may hurt a little bit, but being in the "Best friend zone" it's alright. Then that means, I can be there for Ethan, while I'm still here, living life.

Tuesday came and we gather the crew at Ethan place and tell them what we talked about last night, they all seem to be shocked that I and Ethan are just cool with it, how we still remain to be besties.
"So you guys are going to be best friends forever and ever?" asked Tracy.

"Yes, and nothing is wrong with that" I respond.

"I was really rooting for your love team" said Linus.

"Love team?" Asked Ethan as he looks at me asking for an answers, and I respond with a shrug.

"You know, Kethan?
#I♡Kethan" said Linus as he forms a heart with his hands.

"Well were okay with your love team name, but were never going to be a thing, ok?" I asked Linus if he understood.

"Yah, I know" replied Linus.

"So Aunica is still Ethan girl, while Kathleen is still no ones girl?" Asked Gabriel.

"Yup" I replied.
