Treasure hunt

The next few day the five of them spend most of their time planning through the two-way-parchments, everyone thought they were doing homework. Hermione even got anxious because she thought she had missed an assignment. Harry and Draco spend most of their time together in the ROR or writing to each other on separate papers, after a day they had made separate parchments for just the two of them. The others had complained about them being to lovey-dovey and they did not want to read all the sexy details.

One week later the plan was put into action.
Saturday morning both Harry and Ginny got a letter. When Harry opened his letter a song began to play.

" Roaming the Halls of the school

A boy, handsome and cool

With a secret to keep

He is in his thoughts so deep

If you want to know more

Come and find me in the hidden corridor.

Where snow and fire collide

That is where the next clue will hide"

In Ginny's letter there was part of a picture of a painting and a map of the castle.
"Am I dreaming or did someone actually start a treasure hunt through the castle?" Ron asked
"It seems like it, it looks very promising." said Harry. Neville started to snicker which concluded by being kicked by Dean and Ginny.

"Ow" everyone turned their heads to him. " I, euh, Trevor bit me" Ron and Hermione seemed to buy it but he received a few hidden glares from Harry, Ginny and Dean.

"So , Harry are you going to go on this treasure hunt? Exams are starting to get closer" Hermione asked him.
"Hermione , the term just started, how can you already think of exams?" Ron complained " of course Harry is going to follow the hunt, and I'm going with him"
They all had the morning off so they planned to go search for the next clue right after breakfast. They all met up at the portrait of the fat lady.
"Does anyone have any idea where that portrait is? There are literally thousands of them" Harry said.
"Maybe we should ask a teacher? " Hermione said
"And risk being given detention? No thank you. Ron said, maybe we could ask a ghost, they know all the paintings here"
"Good idea Ron." Dean said. "Lets go"

For 2 hours they were send to all the parts of the castle but they didn't find the painting.
Damn it, Harry thought, they really had to look for the hardest painting to find did they?
"Maybe we've been looking this the wrong way. Harry said suddenly. The song said it was a hidden corridor, maybe the painting is in a hidden corridor and we can find the corridor where fire and ice collide."

"But Harry, fire and ice never collide, it always turns into water and the water turns the fire off." Neville responded.
"Maybe not literally fire and ice, what about a sunset in a winter landscape?" Hermione asked looking towards a painting like she had just described.
"Hermione you're a genius" Harry said. He tried to open the portal but behind the painting was only a wall, no hidden corridor. Ginny was looking at the painting itself, it seemed so obvious, she started to walk toward it, the moment she thought she was going to collide with the painting she felt herself being sucked through it.

"Ginny" they all screamed, they tried to go through the painting like ginny had done but none succeeded so they waited in front of it. A few minutes later Ginny came back out holding another letter.
"What does it say?" Hermione asked.
"I don't know, Ginny said, I can't open it, every time i try to open it it starts hissing, like a snake." She turned to Harry, "Harry do you know what is is saying?" she gave the letter to Harry who tried to open it again. Suddenly they could indeed hear a snake speaking.

"To open for more fun

Looking for the flying sun
Green just like me"

" A green boy looking for the flying sun? Anyone know a leprechaun?" Ron asked laughing
"Or an Irish person." Neville said.
"Seamus, dean said, let's ask him, I'm sure he will love to help us on this hunt."
It was almost lunch so they went to the great hall to find Seamus and eat a quick lunch before going to classes. They explained the hunt to seamus and he was happy to help but he couldn't open the letter either. The letter just repeated the poem.

 During classes none of them could stay concentrated, they were all thinking about the poem and what it meant. "I've got it" Harry suddenly said during History of magic a bit to loud.

"I'm happy finally someone understands the importance of the goblin war, 10 points to gryffindor" professor Binns said. This got a lot of stares from the slytherins and Hermione because she knew exactly that Harry wasn't paying attention at all.
After classes Harry explained what he had found.

" Green just like me, a green snake, a slytherin."
"But what is the flying sun?" Seamus asks
"The snitch, we need to ask the slytherin seeker" Ron said. His face went from excited to disgusted in a second. "But that's Malfoy, oh man I'm not asking that git for help, there has to be another way to open that letter.

" I tried every spell I could think of" Hermione said, " we really need him, I know no one likes that but it's that or stop the hunt"
"Then we stop the hunt, says Ron, I really don't wanna ask the ferret for help, he will just take it and ruin everything. I even wanna bet he made that hunt to make fun of us."
"Come on Ron, we can't give up now. What if it's dumbledore who organised it to have house unity?" Dean asked.
"And don't tell me you don't wanna know what the price is? That is why you went with us isn't it? If you stop now you will never know" Harry added.
"Fine, but I'm not asking him"
