The Other Side

Convergence Day

It's been a week since I moved to this new town and I have become close friends with all the people I met on the first day, but especially Jake who I got along with really well, much to the opposition of my friends. Jake and I would usually meet in the woods and sit next to each other with only enough space for the wall to seperate us and talk for hours.

When I woke up this morning I thought him and I were still going to meet at our usual place after school but I learned that today is convergence day, well really convergence night because even though the wall is down the whole day no one crosses over until the party tonight, or that's what my friends told me.

But in science class I walked in and Jake was sitting on my desk.

"Hey princess" he said, giving me his award winning smile.

"Hi" I said and blushed when he opened his arms out to me for a hug. Which I then stepped into and felt his cold embrace, but I didn't mind the cold, I still felt really good in his arms.

I was pulled out of the hug by Alek clearing his throat behind me. I turned around to see my friends staring at me, all looking scared except Alek who looked pissed.

"Come on Lexi, come sit with us over here" Alek said staring at me and Jake.

"And what if she wants to sit with me?" Jake questioned him, wrapping his arm around me and pressing me to his chest, causing me to blush.

"Who would want to sit with you, you vampire freak" Alek spit out, clenching his fists.

"Oooh I'm so scared" Jake said and all the vampires erupted into laughter, I even had to try and hide a chuckle which Jake found amusing.

Alek came towards us and grabbed me pulling me away from Jake, but also hurting me.

"Ow!" I yelled, causing Alek to look at me and Jake to glare at Alek.

Within seconds Jake had Alek pinned against the nearest wall with his hand at his throat.

"Don't you hurt her ever again, in fact don't even fucking touch her." Jake threatened Alek.

"Or what?" Alek questioned back, but instead of a reply Jake just tightened his grin causing Alek to turn purple from lack of oxygen.

"Jake" I said walking up to him I placed my hands on his shoulders, and when that didn't work I wrapped my arms around his waist.

"Jake stop please" I pleaded, and to everyone's surprise he let go of Alek. But just as he let go of Alek he picked me up and carried me back over to our desks placing me on his lap and holding me close against his body, not that I minded I had always wanted to be in Jake's arms.

Alek was staring at me as if I betrayed him while he rubbed his throat where Jake strangled him. And my friends were looking scared for me.

The teacher called the class to order and for the whole class Jake held my hand soothingly rubbing circles on the back if it. It was so distracting that when the bell rang I jumped a little in my seat.

"Did the bell just scare you?" Jake asked me mockingly.

"No," I replied sticking my tongue out at him, "I was startled".

"Haha okay whatever you say" he said smiling.

"Do you want to sit with me at lunch?" He asked it so fast it came out as a mumble.

"What?" I asked.

"Do you want to eat lunch with me today?" He says clearer.

"Sure" I reply, smiling at him.

He took my hand and led me to the cafeteria then sat us down at a table with other vampires.

"Guys, this is Lexi" he said and they all say their hellos and nice to meet yous.

"Lexi, this is Ana, Marcus, Niklaus, And Katherine" he says and each one stands up and shakes my hand.

"Nice to meet all of you" I reply and sit down next to the one name Niklaus with Jake on my other side, slipping his arm around my waist and pulling me closer to him.

We start a small chat about random things like music and school when I get called down to the office over the speaker.

"Oooh someone's been a bad girl" Niklaus jokes.

"Totally" I say rolling my eyes.

"Here I'll walk you" Jake tells me, grabbing my hand and holding it as we walk.

When we get there Jake stops me to the side since he can't come in with me, and I look in through the window to see my dad and mom staring at me through the glass and I blush.

"Why are you blushing princess?" Jake asks, lifting his hand to put a stray hair of mine behind my ear and moving closer.

"My parents are watching us" I reply, blushing even more at the movement.

He moves in closer so his lips are on my ear and whispers, "good" then kisses my cheek and leaves with his inhuman speed.

I'm still blushing as I walk into the office, until I see the pissed off look on my dads face.
