My dad is on the towns council for regulating laws between vampires and humans. He was moved to this town from our old one for his extreme hatred of vampires so he would create stricter laws closer to the wall. So far all of the laws he has been working on are to make relationships between vampires and humans illegal.
"Hi dad" I said as I walked into the office.
"Who was that thing you were with" he replies with venom in his voice.
"He's not a thing dad, he's a boy, and his name is Jake"
"That 'boy' as you say is a vampire not a human"
"And?"
"And you should not allow him to be so close to you"
"Dad, Jake would never hurt me"
"How can you defend such a cruel senseless-"
"How about you tell me why you're here and then we can discuss my relationship with Jake" I cut him off, tired of hearing him rant.
"She's right honey" my mom said.
"Fine," my dad began, "one of those things that you are getting so cozy with kidnapped your sister."
"What?!" I yell at him.
"You heard me, your sister is missing."
"How do you know it was a vampire?" I quietly ask.
"Because she said something about meeting up with some friends who have a vampire buddy and then never came home but her friends did, well some, one of them, a young female was found dead, drained of blood"
I felt lightheaded. My sister the only one who understood was missing, taken, by a vampire.
"What, what are we going to do?" I asked him.
"You are going to stay here while we initiate a search"
"I can't stay here while my fucking sis-"
"Watch your language" my mother interjected with an appalled expression. "You will stay here and finish school you can help if you wish when it is over, now go back to lunch and don't see that boy ever again, as you know now, as everyone knows now they are dangerous"
"What do you mean 'as everyone knows'" I asked.
"Well naturally the entire human population in this town knows that your sister was kidnapped by a vampire since I'm on the council"
"Lovely" I say and walk out the door slamming it.
When I get back to the cafeteria absolutely no one is speaking, they are just glaring at the vampires and to be honest the vampires look confused as hell.
Jake though when he notices me stands up to walk over but Alek steps in front of me blocking my view and grabbing my arm.
"Come on Lex, sit over with us now"
Jake runs up behind him and throws him off of me.
"I thought I told you not to touch her!" He yelled and started advancing towards Alek.
"That was before the likes of you kidnapped her sister!" Alek yelled right back, stopping Jake in his tracks.
"What?" Jake questioned looking at me.
"That's why my parents were here" I say quietly, trying not to cry.
"Princess I'm so sorry, I didn't know I swear I didn't know and when I find out who did this I will punish them" Jake told me coming up to me and putting his hands on my arms.
"Don't listen to him Lex," Alek said, "he probably knew, no he probably planned it to-"
"Shut up Alek" I cut him off, "I'm tired and honestly I don't believe Jake or his friends had anything to do with this" and with that I walked over to Jake and into his arms, allowing him to comfort me.
