"gah!" hana let out an odd sound as she noticed what was hanging off the front of her poor mech. it was smack-dab in the middle of her screen, like it was waiting to be punched.
out of instinct, she engaged the boosters at the back of meka's arms and flew enough height to where she could get a view of all the shenanigans unfolding beneath her. luckily, she flew up with the right amount force that the creature had fallen off into the sea of zombies infesting the land. spotted further ahead, more explosions began unleashing; as well as the infamous smoke that trailed.
the jets behind the mech's arms didn't last very long, as it began to slowly drop down into the crowd. hana started to panic; sweat started to form down her forehead. in a frantic motion, she jerked the controls forward to atleast get a decent distance away from the army.
the plan that she initially thought would work in her head had failed, in result of meka almost being completely assaulted by the undead corpses. "dang you, stupid things!" hana whispered to herself in irritation.
it wasn't anything like the simulation video games she always had been playing– it felt heavier; and, well, real. without any though or hesitation, hana drove meka– who was ten times it's normal weight because of the bodies– into the direction where the explosives had been going off.
she could barely see anything for about a good solid 3 minutes, added with the constant banging and tapping on the mech. hana knew she looked crazy, reckless, and straight-up like a dumbass... she was dragging a pile of zombies around in a mech– near explosives. you only live once, right?
hana continued to scout in the mass of dust, beginning to feel a sensation of warmth rising to her cheeks.
she didn't know if it was because of the odd heat, or if they had gotten tired of being dragged on her robot; but the zombies had seem to been latching off and running away. was that a sign that she should get out of the fog as well?
it didn't matter anymore at that point if she should've or not, as a bundle of small, petite, red cylinder-looking objects were thrown all around the front of meka's feet.
before hana could react, the spark had already reached it's limit and set off the bomb inside of the tube. meka was sent flying; with her inside of it. luckily, it didn't go up a fatal height– but far enough to where it was dangerous. the explosive caused the glass to almost entirely shatter into tiny little pieces, shards landing on areas of her fragile face. meka's outer compact had also been almost completely destroyed, it's jets not working no matter how much hana abused the button. the huge guns that once lay on the side portion had been blasted off onto the floor.
the said girl fell down along with the little left of meka, creating a thud as they hit the ground. she let out a loud sob of help, groaning at the pain that pierced her back. so, padding in the mech wasn't even secure in the first place? she was so naive, practically taping machine guns and jetpacks onto scrap metal, calling it a "mech". all it took was a couple of explosives and it was gone. she even managed to hurt herself too.
hana continued to whimper in pain. her back was completely un-moveable, like it had a mind of it's own. so she sat there, nearly paralyzed, completely vulnerable to anything that could gnaw at her poor feet. the lower half of her body remained uncovered and out in the open. the zombies had already fled and what was left was a cloud of nothing, giving the young woman no hope.
