"ugh!" hana scoffed as her eyes met with the ugly creature's. "where'd you come from?" she questioned, even though she was expecting no answer from the lifeless figure. it was kind of odd, since she was so sure that the area she was in was safe from zombies. so seeing a stray out in the rain really lead her off the rail.

without wasting anymore time, hana turned her joysticks to aim, pressing the red buttons atop where her thumbs lay. she stuck her tongue out in concentration, making sure she hit the body perfectly with the bullets spewing out of meka's machine guns. it didn't take much for the ghoul to collapse on the floor in a mushy mess, almost grossing hana out. thank god meka was built with an unlimited amount of amo, so she didn't really have to worry about that.

as much as the young girl didn't want to, hana had to get out of her mech to examine the body of the zombie incase anything important was on it. and she really didn't want to. she strategically slid open the latch with her feet, holding it with her legs, then her arms as she got out. the horrible stench was almost ten times worse now that she was so engulfed in the scent of meka.

she used the front of her ragged sweater to cover her nostrils, blocking the scent of the corpse. stars started to scatter above the high-ground, indicating that night time was approaching and being alert should be her number one priority.

hana started closing the gap slowly between her and the body, her heart racing as she spotted a folded paper of some-sort hanging off of it's neck. she quickened her pace out of excitement; maybe her discovery wasn't as much as a disappointment as she thought. she was still holding her sweater close to her nose as she peered around it's legs, and bending down to pull it over it's head.

once she had retrieved what seemed to be a note, she quickly ran back into her mech in disgust that she had just touched a dead body. she still wasn't used to it at all. as she laid inside, hana ripped open the note hoping it was from somebody who had survived as well; but luck didn't really prove to be in her favor that day, so she wasn't that positive.

hope someone will find this!!!!!!!
i sent my buddy out here to deliver this message.
it's pretty deserted in this area so just checkin' if anyone's out here.

"what the heck is that supposed to mean?" hana said to herself, annoyed that the person who wrote the letter gave no sense of direction. if they were checking for anyone, wouldn't they at least give a route to follow?

she didn't want to throw the piece of valuable paper away though, it was necessary to keep it if anyone really was out there. she stuffed it in one of the emptied cup holders and marched onward. even if there was little hope, she continued moving on past all the deserted plantations abominated by dead plants. she scanned around, her stomach growling in sorrow the more land she observed. it was just one of those days.

the sky was already pitch-black and stars were feint but more noticeable than before, and the moon was high up in the sky giving off just a little light. the rain had stopped earlier on that evening so the mud under meka's legs started to dry up. hana found a good resting spot under a pile of scrap metal and wooden crates, retracting meka's mucky legs in a sitting position.

hopping out, hana exited the mech once more to pull a sheet over the sides. it casted a shadow over meka from the moonlight, and secured her area in case of any danger. now, the only view she had was the bluish-green screen front. hana continued to make herself comfortable back inside the padded area, but this time on her back.

she decided that it was finally resting time, after yet another day failing to find redemption.
