Chapter 20
What happened to you?

•Naruto’s pov•

“Damn it” I exclaim as I wipe the sticky goo of the inwards of the snake of my clothes. Well I at least try to. But it seemed the remaining goo has already established itself into my clothes.

Kurama let's out a bark of laughter at my state. I scowl.

“Ugh, I hate snakes.” I mutter under my breath. As I start running towards the direction of Sasuke and Sakura.

I hope I'm not too late.

It seems I made it just in time.

I immediately feel relieved as I Sasuke and Sakura still alive. Beat up, but still alive.

Much to my dismay I see Sasuke offering him our scroll and I can't help but sigh inwardly. Thank Kami I changed the real scroll with fake scroll one.  As Orochimaru starts reaching for the scroll I decide it's time for me to interfere sending a volley of kunai towards the disgusting snake and standing in between my teammates and the threat.

“ Sasuke-teme I know it's hard for you to use your brain for something other then revenge. But still in situations like these. You should actually use your head.”

Even when we're in this situation Sasuke takes the time to glare at me.

“What are you talking about dobe?  I'm saving our lives. “

I scoff. “Who says that he’s actually gonna let us go when he has the scroll? “

Sakura opens her mouth ready to defend Sasuke but seems to close it again as she actually think about what I said.

Good. Seems like she isn't completely useless.

“Naruto-kun is right.” Orochimaru says cutting into our conversation. He smiles creepily. “But maybe I will let you go. “ The scroll seems to slip out of Sasuke’s hand into his. I plaster a wave of surprise on my face already have seen the invisible ninja wires connected to it. Disgustingly he swallows it and I grimace.

That's just messed up.

Karama agrees inwardly. Orochimaru smirks as he takes a step forward I shift my stance quickly grabbing both Sasuke and Sakura and making a run for it. Oorochimaru takes another step forward and suddenly starts choking. I laugh looking over my shoulder an evil glint in my eyes as I continue to run.

“You should always check what you eat” I yell over my shoulder making two clones to grab a hold of Sasuke and Sakura knowing I couldn't keep dragging them both since they couldn't keep up with my speed and then we would have probably tripped. I flare my chakra hoping the others will sense it. During that I barely dodged a fire jutsu coming my way.  I turn around giving the signal to my clones to continue running ignoring Sasuke and Sakura’s protest as I face Orochimaru.

“It seems I underestimated you, Naruto-kun”

A scowl appears on my face. “Don't call me that you pervert” I say channeling my inner thoughts in Naruto’s way of expressing it.  

Orochimaru’s face closes off at my words. A dark aura escaping him. I shift into a defending stance my kunai in my hand as I track his movements. Until he dissapears. I  don't move my spot until I feel a shift in the air as I meet his kunai with mine. And so we continue to fight only the sound of the kunai’s clashing running through the clearing.
