talias pov-
after 4 hours of lying down together and talking about anything that comes to mind we pack up all our stuff and go home.

he holds my hand in his on the way back home. this is what happiness feels like.

we get home and open the door. we see billy and grayson kissing and ethan and i look at each other and smile.

once they heard the door close the pulled away trying to catch their breaths.

"so," i pause and smirk, "what were you two love birds up to while ethan and i were gone?"

"u-um i was teaching billie cpr, obviously." grayson says nervously laughing
"yea we were kissing or anything." billie scratches her neck
"okayyy," ethan says, "by the way we know ypu two like each other. might as well just date already."

billie was drinking water while he said that and as soon as he did her eyes went wide and she choked on her water causing all of us to laugh.

"OKAY ENOUGH ABOUT BILLIE AND I," grayson yells, "how did your date go?"

ethan smiles and looks at me

"tell them e" i say
"hmm id much rather show them." he says and cups my face into his hands and kiss me catching us all off guard. especially me!

including his mom

"i knew they liked each other!" lisa pops up out of nowhere
"oh yea gray we all know you like billie too." lisa says
"ma stoppp" grayson says and he starts to blush

i say goodnight to lisa and i hug billie goodbye because she had to go home.

ethan and i go upstairs and i go up to the spare room. ethan drags me into his room instead.

"your birthday is tomorrow princess," he smiles, "what do you want?"
"nothinggg," i pause, "youre not getting me anything e"

he totally ignores what i say and just pulls me onto his lap. we just sit there, enjoying each others presence.

"ethan im tired, im gonna go sleep." i say getting up to go to the spare room
"go change and sleep here with me." ethan suggests
"okay" i smile and go to change

i change into shorts and a big black t shirt. i go to the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth and when i finish i go and jump onto ethans bed scaring him a bit.

"lets go to bed, we have a big day tomorrow." ethan says kissing my head
"goodnight ethan" i close my eyes
"goodnight princess" he wraps his arms around me which makes me feel safe

i go to sleep happy.

-talias birthday-

ethans pov-
i wake up at 8 am and get out of bed as quiet as possible so i dont wake talia up.

i text billie and tell her to meet me at party city.

i get into my car and i drive to party city to get talia balloons. i get her a gold 1 balloon and a gold 7 balloon for 17. i get her black red and white regular balloons as well.

billie comes to party city to take the balloons since i have to do more stuff for talias birthday. i want her 17th birthday to be the best shes ever had.

i leave party city and i go to a flower store. i get down and i look at all the flowers. i want to get her roses but i dont know what color.

a unique color of roses catches my eye. black. i didnt even know these existed.

they were $150. i bought them. talia always talks about how much she loves the color black. i know she will absolutely love these.

after i get the roses i go to a jewelry store. i want to get talia a necklace.

i was looking at all the different rings they had and i saw this sterling silver necklace.

it has little diamonds in the shape of a t. i find an e too. i buy a chain and the t and the e.

i put the t and the e on the necklace chain and i hide it in one of the roses.

time to get her breakfast and go home to surprise my princess.

talias pov-
i wake up to an empty bed and a note on the night stand

dear talia,
        good morning and happy birthday princess. sorry i couldnt be next to you when you first woke up. i am out picking some things up. i will be home soon t. relax in bed until i come.

he is the sweetest boy ever. how did i ever get so lucky to have him.

i hear the doorbell ring so i go downstairs to see who it is. its billie, ethan, and grayson. grayson recording, with a bag of ihop in his other hand, billie holding tons of balloons, and ethan holding roses. not just any roses, black roses.

when i open the door i smile from ear to ear. my eyes start to get glossy. no one has ever done anything this big for my birthday. im so grateful for them.

they come in and put everything down. ethan comes over to me and kisses me. he hugs me, "happy birthday gorgeous"

grayson starts taking all the food out and we start to eat. this is the happiest ive been in a long time. a very long time.

ethan gives me one rose from the whole bouquet.

"flip the rose upside down." he says and i do so

when i flip it i see a necklace fall out. i see a capital t and a capital e on the chain. i love it. so much.

i look at ethan and hug him tight.
"thank you so much ethan" i say
"anything for you."

-tuesday at school-
we get to school. ethan and i walk hand in hand to lunch. destin is back from his suspension. he sees us and i can tell hes mad.

i look at him not caring. im happy with ethan and thats all that matters.

we get to the table and we greet billie and grayson. i eat my salad and we talk about the football games. ethan and grayson are gonna be on the football team.

my phone starts ringing and i see that its justin. thats odd. he knows im at school he never calls me.

i answer and its a woman talking.

"hello? is this talia daniel? justin daniels younger sister?" the woman says
"yes this is her" i say
"okay. i wanted to let you know that justin is in the hospital. he got into a horrible accident and is in critical condition." when she says that everything stops

i dont reply or anything i just sit there.

"hello? miss daniel?" the woman says
"im on my way" i hang up

as soon as i hang up i burst into tears

"whats wrong baby," ethan says holding me, "talia what happened?"

i dont reply i just cry.
i have to get to the hospital
