Chapter 14

As the pegasai pony couple shared a kiss, Dusk Shine arrived on the scene, and stared in awe. As for Starbeam Glamour, when he saw Fluttershy kissing Butterscotch, he was filled with rage and jealousy. So much so that he snapped as he let out a battle cry, and charged at Butterscotch. Fluttershy gasped in shock as Starbeam Glamour fought against Butterscotch, and she said "Starbeam Glamour, no! Starbeam!" Dusk Shine gasped as loaded his gun while Fluttershy tried to stop Starbeam Glamour, and said "Leave him alone!" Starbeam Glamour shoved Fluttershy away, and he lowered his weapon towards Butterscotch's neck. Fluttershy tried to pull Starbeam Glamour back as she said "Starbeam Glamour, stop!" "Both eyes open." Dusk Shine muttered as he opened one of his eyes, and shot Starbeam Glamour, hitting him in the chest in the process. Fluttershy gasped as Starbeam Glamour grabbed her element of kindness necklace from her neck, and he fell into the water. Butterscotch recovered from what had happened to him as he looked at Dusk Shine, and said "Dusk Shine!" "Is he...?" Dusk Shine tried to ask, but Fluttershy looked at him as she interrupted him, and said "You killed him!" "I thought that-!" Dusk Shine tried to say, but Fluttershy cut him off as she said "Get away from him!" She tried to attack him, but Butterscotch stopped her as he said "Fluttershy, it won't help! He was only-!" "He killed him!" Fluttershy yelled out interrupting Butterscotch.

Just then, they heard voices approaching them, and Butterscotch looked at Dusk Shine as he said "Dusk Shine, get out of here. Get out of here!" Dusk Shine quickly ran off, and a group of pony warriors grabbed Butterscotch, and dragged him away while another group picked Starbeam Glamour's dead body up, and carried it away as Fluttershy followed them. Angel and Twilight Sparkle was about to follow them, but they went up to Winona who was shivering in fear under a root. "It's okay. You can come out." Twilight Sparkle said. Winona then crawled out, and they followed Fluttershy, leaving her broken necklace behind. At the Ponyville village, the pony villagers gasped at the sight of Starbeam Glamour's dead body, and they wept for him. Enraged, Shining Armor looked ahead, and said "Who did this?!" The pony warriors brought Butterscotch before him as one of them said "Fluttershy was out in the woods. Starbeam Glamour went to find her, and this savage attacked them." Shining Armor pointed his spear at Butterscotch's neck as he said "Your weapons are strong, but our anger is stronger. At sunrise, he will be the first to die!" "But, father!" Fluttershy said as she approached her father.

Shining Armor glared at his daughter as he said "I told you to stay in the village! You disobeyed me! You have shamed your father!" "I was only trying to help!" Fluttershy said. "Because of your foolishness, Starbeam Glamour is dead!" Shining Armor said. "Take him away!" The pony warriors dragged Butterscotch away while Fluttershy knelt down in shame. Pinkie Pie gently approached Fluttershy who said "Starbeam Glamour was just coming to protect me." "Fluttershy, I sent Starbeam Glamour after you." Pinkie Pie said feeling guilty. "I was worried about you. I thought I was doing the right thing." "All of this happened because of me." Fluttershy said sadly. "And now, I'll never see Butterscotch again." "Come with me." Pinkie Pie said as she dragged Fluttershy with her towards one of the tents. She looked at the two pony villagers guarding the tent, and said "Fluttershy wants to look into the eyes of the stallion who killed Starbeam Glamour." "Be quick." One of the pony villagers said. Fluttershy then went into the tent, and approached Butterscotch who was tied to a pole. He looked at Fluttershy, and said "Fluttershy!" Fluttershy hugged Butterscotch as she said "I'm so sorry." "For what, this?" Butterscotch asked. "I've gotten out of worse scrapes than this. Can't think of any right now, but.."

"It would have been better if we'd never met, none of this would've happened." Fluttershy said. "Fluttershy, look at me." Butterscotch said as Fluttershy looked at him. "I'd rather die tomorrow than live a hundred years without you. Cause if I never knew you or felt this love, I would have no inkling of how precious life can be." "I feel the same way." Fluttershy said. Pinkie Pie poked her head in the tent, and said "Fluttershy?" "I can't leave you." Fluttershy said. "You never will." Butterscotch said. "No matter what happens to me, I'll always be with you. Forever." Fluttershy then left the tent, and she flew back to the shady tree in the middle of the lake. Back at the settlement, Dusk Shine ran into the fort as he said "Help! Somepony, help! Help! Help!" "Easy, Dusk Shine!" Sunset Glare said. "What is it?!" "It's Butterscotch, they got him!" "Who got him?!" Elusive said. "The savages!" Dusk Shine said. "Savages?!" Trenderhoof asked. "They captured him!" Dusk Shine said. "Dragged him off!" "Where'd they take him?!" Elusive asked. Dusk Shine pointed north as he said "They headed north!" "How many were there?" Sunset Glare asked. "I don't know!" Dusk Shine said. "At least a dozen!" "Filthy beasts!" Elusive said in anger. Trixie woke up, and went over to see what was going on, but Prince Blueblood pulled her into his tent, and blew out her candle as he whispered out "It's perfect, Trixie! I couldn't have planned this better myself. The gold is as good as mine." "We've got to save him!" Dusk Shine said. "He'd do the same for any of us!" "Dusk Shine is right!" Elusive said. "We've got to do something." "And so we shall!" Prince Blueblood said as he approached them. "I told you those savages couldn't be trusted! Butterscotch tried to befriend them, and look what they've done to him! But, now I say it's time to rescue our courageous comrade. At daybreak, we attack!" The pony settlers cheered as they prepared for war while the pony villagers did the same thing.
