Chapter 16

At the shore, the pony settlers were getting ready to leave Ponyville, and go back to Manehatten. "Is he going to make it, Dusk Shine?" Elusive asked talking about Butterscotch. "Sooner he gets back to Manehatten, the better." Dusk Shine said. "Well, let's hope the wind is with him." Sunset Glare said. Dusk Shine nodded, and said "Is the ship ready yet?" "Any minute now. Just loading the last bit of cargo." Elusive said with a wink. Claude and Trenderhoof then tossed a bound and gagged Prince Blueblood onto a row boat as he struggled to get free up to no avail, and said "How dare you! Untie me at once! I'll have your head for this!" As Claude and Trenderhoof got into the rowboat, and took Prince Blueblood away, Trixie stared, and sighed sadly as she said "And he came so highly recommended." Dusk Shine then went up to Butterscotch who was lying on the stretcher as he said "The ship's almost ready. We'd better get you on board. We'll lose the tide." Before he could lift the stretcher with his magic, Butterscotch stopped him, and said "No, not yet. She said she'd be here." Dusk Shine looked up, and said "Look." The pony settlers looked up to see Fluttershy approaching, along with her ponies that were carrying baskets of food.

Dusk Shine went up to Fluttershy as he said "Going back is his only chance. He'll die if he stays here." Fluttershy nodded, and went up to Butterscotch as she knelt down to him. She then took out a piece of tree bark, and said "Here. It's from Grandmother Princess Celestia's bark. It'll help with the pain." "What pain?" Butterscotch asked. He then flinched in pain as he said "I've had worse pain than this. Can't think of any right now, but-" His words trailed off as Shining Armor approached him, and placed a tan-colored blanket on top of him, and said "You are always welcome among our ponies. Thank you, my brother." Then, Twilight Sparkle flew up to Butterscotch, and said "Take care of yourself, okay?" "I thought you didn't like strangers." Butterscotch said. "Well, you are no stranger to me anymore." Twilight Sparkle said. She looked at Fluttershy, and said "Hey, Fluttershy. Winona, Angel, and I have something for you." Winona, Angel, and Twilight Sparkle then held up the element of kindness necklace as Fluttershy took it, and said "My mother's necklace." She placed it on her neck as Butterscotch petted Winona, and said "See ya, Winona."

Angel then gave Winona a biscuit, and she ate it. Butterscotch then looked at Fluttershy, and said "Come with me?" Fluttershy looked up at Shining Armor who said "You must choose your own path." Fluttershy then looked down at Butterscotch as she said "I'm needed here." "Then, I'll stay with you." Butterscotch said. Fluttershy shook her head, and said "No. You have to go back." "But, I can't leave you." Butterscotch said. "You never will." Fluttershy said. "No matter what happens, I will always be with you. Forever." They shared a tender kiss, and Dusk Shine lifted the stretcher with his magic as he carried him away to a rowboat, and Pinkie Pie started to cry. "Good luck, colt." Sunset Glare said. "Celestia speed, Butterscotch." Dusk Shine said as they rowed to the ship. Once they weighed the anchor, and got the sails up, they started to sail away as Fluttershy ran towards a cliff, and watched the ship go as the wind blew behind her. The wind blew in Butterscotch's face, and blew on the sails, making the ship go faster in the process. Fluttershy and Butterscotch looked at each other, and waved as if they were saying wingapo to each other. Even though that they know that they will be apart, they both knew that their lives were richer with the love that they shared.
